idk, does finding out you got dinged really put you out of your misery or only deepen it? I think most of us (me included) are enjoying our last few moments of ignorant bliss. But I have said it before and I will say it again; I really believe that a few of us are still going to get in. Every school has to have a few "beat the odds" applicants, they are deciding which of us are going to fill those 3 spots they left open to prove they aren't all about the numbers.

I bet those of us who went UR 3/24 will go DR 3/31. I hope this is my last week of obsessively checking my status checker.

while your outlook is awesomely inspiring, there's no way this is your last week compulsively checking. status checkers are like lay's potato chips. you can't just have one.

also, does it bode horribly bad for me that i'm UR 3/23? (and 2/2, and 2/17, and 3/5....but who's counting ....)

haha, until now I had always read your name as TAMMYtahoe... haha and I always thought you were a girl. Glad we cleared that up.
Tammytahoe's my sister. LoL

It was my own Lake Tahoe version of "Johnny Two Times" from Goodfellas. I continue to drag the name along with me with me, god knows why.

Ok, I digress...back to the fretting.

Again, this is pure speculation on my part, and some people who were dinged last week (like Sibley) had been UR several times. But I tend to think it bodes well for you, because you know they have in fact looked at your application several times and decided to keep you around, as opposed to just not having gotten around to rejecting you yet.

It might not make a difference in the ultimate decision. An auto ding for your numbers feels the same as a ding after they considered keeping you. And you will never really know which one you were, but I think no matter what they like something they see in your app, and that counts for something, at least in my book.

I also applied to both programs. Unfortunately, I don't have spectacular softs, so I don't fit that pattern. However, I'm with heyzeus as a Southerner, and I'm a minority, but I'm not a URM.

I hate to break up the optimism about this last batch (UR 3/29), but I'm a white, middle class southerner (Texas!!) with mediocre everything (and an F on my transcript - I got to retake the class, but it's still there).

That said, I really truly hope that some of y'all ARE those last couple that will round out the class. Fingers crossed for y'all!

did you apply both full time and part time? i think that's the real pattern. maybe the change is status is us being sent from the FT pool to the PT pool?

i applied to both. good deductive reasoning here - i think you may be on to something.

well it was either that or i am too - unbeknownst to me - a white southerner.

I applied full time only, so I don't fit that pattern. I think its just a spurious connection, because most people who have lower numbers applied to both because they had a better chance of getting into PT... so it all really comes back to our numbers.

I checked out your profile (3.9 + compelling softs). i think you've probably went under review for a completely different reason than the people who went under review again yesterday. i hope you get some good news soon.

i'm sticking with the FT/PT pattern because it's cleaner than trying to find a pattern out of low LSAT/High GPA and/or amazing softs. that said, i hope youre right if only because it would mean my application doesn't need to be completely reconsidered for a completely separate program.

How many people on here are choosing Georgetown at sticker (or close to sticker) v. GW with $105,400??? What's making you chose GULC?

Well I am probably not going to be getting in at Georgetown and I didn't get offered anywhere near that much $$$ at GW, but let me take a shot at helping you.

Where do you want to practice? I would imagine GULC (since it is ranked higher) does better in other parts of the country than GW does. In DC itself, I have heard mixed things. I am sure GULC tends to be a bit better in job placement in DC, but I think if you are among the top of your class at GW you'll be good. If you think you can be somewhere among the top of your class, I would take the money from GW and run! Seriously that is a sweet offer from a school that is quite stingy with its schollys.

Also, what kind of law do you want to practice? I would look very closely at course offerings. I am interested in international law (economic law, trade etc) and both schools have awesome course offerings in that area, but I am not sure about other specialties.

UR 3/9 ----> UR 3/29 also.

This is my last hope for the illusive T14. An acceptance would officially upgrade my cycle from a ground-rule double to walk-off home run status. Here's to hoping that a bunch of us can slither in after they have a poor yield the week of the deadline.

DR folks try to request a password to the admitted students site. http://www.law.georgetown.edu/admissions/admitted/

If you're able to get a username/password and log in, I think that means you're in.
If you are unable to get a username/password, you're not in the system -- can mean you're not admitted, or you're just not in that system yet.

edit: I went DR last week and can get into the admitted students site but still have no letter or anything

Has anyone from UR 2/23 > DR 3/30 been able to log in to the admitted students site yet and has anyone received the rejection e-mail yet?

:?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
