Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
i know the theory that we have interesting softs is why we are still around. i tend to think there are quite a few of us who applied to both FT / PT, and they are just waiting to round out the class until they decide which one of the two to put us in.

I applied to both PT and FT, so that could be a correct theory (but of course I like to think that I have interesting softs as well).
It's quite possible though that they just haven't gotten around to rejecting me yet.

i won't make the literatewhitesouthernwithashotatgeorgetownisinfactaminiority joke because its rude and i wouldn't want to offend any of the decent, hardworking Americans living below Staten Island who add so much value and wealth to our society and economy.heyzeus wrote: Ha!
I totally agree and can therefore assume they lumped a purely white southern applicant (me) with all of the URMs to invoke a certain irony. Or is it that I am in fact a minority? is this their way of telling me? if so do i get some sort of prize pack or cake now that I have reached this status?
Also dodgeball never worked out for me. Is there any way I can use the rest of yall as human shields like in the old days?
what would we do without you?

Your numbers should be auto admit to at least PT though. I think they are just making the tough "should i go full time or part time to law school" decision for us, and are going to dump us in the right division based on our "interesting" softs.WithGrace23 wrote:I applied to both PT and FT, so that could be a correct theory (but of course I like to think that I have interesting softs as well).

is that really likely? i was afraid my checking the "both" box would look wishy-washy. but honestly i would be perfectly happy in either program.expat17 wrote:Your numbers should be auto admit to at least PT though. I must be showing my age (37, if you want to know), but I am having serious difficulty understanding what all that means, esp. the 'frail' thinglil'monique wrote: Yaaaa, yaaaa he cool. he cool.

Haha, I haven't seen frail before either, but I assumed it was some kind of meta-fail, as in she failed at writing "fail."tommytahoe wrote:I must be showing my age (37, if you want to know), but I am having serious difficulty understanding what all that means, esp. the 'frail' thinglil'monique wrote: Yaaaa, yaaaa he cool. he cool.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
frail = weak, backing down from a fight or a proposed course of action
Example:
"G'town, admit me. You won't? You frail. So what if I got a 152. Step up, show some balls."

see, using frail as slang for its actual definition is our way of being post-metameta

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Hi!
I am an international applicant and I am considering many top US law schools currently. I had Georgetown as my top choice originally, but was informed in another thread that "job prospects" at Georgetown are not very good compared to schools like NYU and Columbia. I am now having to rethink my list of schools. I was just wondering if those of you that chose to go to Georgetown faced a similar dilemma and, if so, what helped you overcome it and choose Georgetown. I am really interested in hearing about things related to "job prospects" specifically, but any help would be great.
Thanks!

This discussion is by and for those who just got accepted at Georgetown, or are still (desperately) hoping to get accepted there. We all may know some things, of course, but discussions about Georgetown from those who study there will be found in the above links, plus any other similar ones in the "Discuss your Law School" forum on this website.
Also, look at the Georgetown Law profile on this website (http://www.top-law-schools.com/georgeto ... enter.html), for a basic look at the school, its life, its job prospects. I can safely tell you that it is a terrific school with outstanding job prospects (the recession notwithstanding).
EDIT: re: Georgetown vs. NYU ad Columbia, I would say the last two have an edge, being in the Top5 nationwide. Unless you want to stay in DC in which case the scales lean back a bit toward Georgetown.

So I suspect you're flaming, but on the off chance you're not, the only reason to take GULC over NYU/CLS is a big scholarship or ties to DC.Olivio Pastimante wrote:Hi!

Ok, thanks, but I was looking for more concrete information like job statistics. Anyway, I wont post here because like the girl above said, this is for people that have already applied. I will check her links out now. Thanks again.beef wellington wrote:So I suspect you're flaming, but on the off chance you're not, the only reason to take GULC over NYU/CLS is a big scholarship or ties to DC.Olivio Pastimante wrote:Hi!
