Went UR 2/19 initially, then went UR again on 3/3. Any idea what that might mean?

I thought I remembered reading in this thread that sometimes GT delays emails and sometimes they don't. Have you tried the admitted students website?k77 wrote:I really really hope today... but I suspect it will be tomorrow or Monday. And hopefully by mailMine did. When do you think we'll hear?

Interesting.. I went under review 2/19 as well but mine hasn't updated at all. Anyone else still at UR 2/19?mebeSajid wrote:Went UR 2/19 initially, then went UR again on 3/3. Any idea what that might mean?

I didn't even notice when I went complete, all I know is they sent me an application received email on 1/11. Anyone else in a similar situation? I was fine waiting patiently until I heard back from GW in just over 2 weeks... now all the sudden my patience is gone.
Also, to the person who wrote that acceptance is usually 6 weeks review time, any idea what pretty much auto reject time under review is?

I was called today for a phone interview and I think it went well. The interviewer was very nice and seemed like a cool person. She actually called me when I was in the middle of shaving and I barely noticed that the phone was ringing over the sound of the electric razor. I was late for class after the interview, but after class I explained why to the professor and she was pretty excited to hear it. The interview definitely made my day.

I sent my email telling them I was interested last night, and they responsed this morning by letting me know I'll receive a phone interview any time during this next week.DallasCowboy wrote:Did anybody else from the 3/2 scholarship email hear back yet? Still nothing here.
Congrats. Did it seem like she had some standard questions she was supposed to discuss with you? The results from the first phone interviews seemed very odd. Here's hoping the second round goes a little better!CoaltoNewCastle wrote:I was called today for a phone interview and I think it went well. She asked me about my connections to the DC area (where I was born and raised), about why I want to go to Georgetown, and about my plan to go into comedy politics.sundevil77 wrote:I sent my email telling them I was interested last night, and they responsed this morning by letting me know I'll receive a phone interview any time during this next week.DallasCowboy wrote:Did anybody else from the 3/2 scholarship email hear back yet? Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I just received $20,000 a year from Fordham. I received an email from Gtown admissions letting me know that I should update them when I asked about merit scholarships. Does anyone think I should shoot them an email about Fordham's offer, hoping that they'll offer something? Or do you think it's not even worth it?

Of course it's worth it! What do you have to lose?...and they asked you to do it! Yes, let them know, and see what happens. Things happen outside of the box every day, regardless of what all of the stats on TLS say...Kim617 wrote:I just received $20,000 a year from Fordham. I really don't understand this process. Shouldn't it be obvious that EVERYONE wants to be considered for a merit scholarship? Had you previously talked to the admissions office? Did you just email the main admissions email address? Thanks!sundevil77 wrote:

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
has anyone else who interviewed for the first round of merit scholarships NOT heard a decision yet? i believe i was in the first round (had my interview feb. 22) and haven't heard a thing...seems like you all heard back late wednesday? the dean of admissions' email stated that decisions would come out on wednesday or the latest by thursday, march 4...which i guess leaves him a total of 3 hours if more notifications are coming tonight.
i will probably just e-mail tomorrow if i don't get any news tonight?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
To all those soon to be interviewed:
I was in the first round of phone interviews and it seemed to go very well. I mentioned my 45k at U of M, 54k at Duke. I got an email back offering a big goose egg. People with better numbers/scholarships seem to be "alternates" for a scholarship. The few who did seem to have comparable offers from T6 schools. I really don't understand what Georgetown is doing with this whole process. It's either a huge letdown for those supposedly at the "top" of the applicant pool or a minor pot sweetener for those who have T6 acceptances, who more than likely won't pick Georgetown (I know there are exceptions...). Perhaps mentioning offers from higher ranked schools is a negative because they just assume you won't attend anyways even if given 5, 10, 15k a year.......

Oh, to be clear, they emailed me first to let me know I had been selected for scholarship consideration. They asked that if I was still interested that I email them back. My email was in response to theirs.tangential886 wrote:I really don't understand this process. Shouldn't it be obvious that EVERYONE wants to be considered for a merit scholarship? Sorry to hear that. That's depressing news. I know they have a reputation on TLS for being "stingy," but are they hurting for money or something? I still don't see how they are going to lure students who will keep their medians steady.strandm2 wrote:To all those soon to be interviewed:

To those expecting phone-call interviews "in the next week"... could that mean tomorrow? I'm not available Wed-Fri next week, so I'm really hoping I get to chat with someone before then.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
