Most if not all people who got held did not go DR. No decision has been made on our apps so we are still UR.Philaw wrote:Date of DR?ccs224 wrote:Got an email from Georgetown this morning - application put on hold until January. Hmm...

Yep. Was under review last night and am still under review today. Despite the email being titled "Georgetown Law Application Status" there has been no change in the status checker.CyLaw wrote:Most if not all people who got held did not go DR. So are these A-holes really going to make us wait til monday, just to say no? I wish they had just put rejected on my status checker so I could get on with life.alphie wrote:I just called the office of adm and they said there will be no weekend emails...

Well if there are no emails over the weekend, is it safe to assume that if we do not receive an email by tonight, we will not receive one?
And further, is it a fact that people have not received rejections/deferments via postal mail?

are you ED? PT or FT? If you are ED, I wonder if this means your decision in January will not be binding?ccs224 wrote:Yep. Was under review last night and am still under review today. OK. Calling the Adcoms names is not a bright move my friend (whoever said they were "a-holes"). Especially at this critical juncture in the admissions process.
While I don't envy us having to wait here with all of this anxiety, I also don't envy the Adcoms right now. They have to wade through 12,000 applications. Sometimes I lose sight of how big a number that is.
I'm as impatient as everyone else. But come on, we'll know by Monday. As someone said earlier, they might be hand-scanning our written letters one-by-one. That's why it might take so long. Who knows.

It's a good day when I can reference a bowel movement on TLS.Mosca wrote:+1beckstar wrote:best post of the dayughOSU wrote:I'm also about to go take a shit. If they are hand scanning then I COMPLETELY understand the delay, but if they just made a generic email for all of us then I think that is pretty cold.Hopefullawstudent wrote:OK. Hand scanning = email = bad news. It's time to be resigned?Hopefullawstudent wrote:OK. Calling the Adcoms names is not a bright move my friend (whoever said they were "a-holes"). Especially at this critical juncture in the admissions process.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
ok, it's Friday and no mail for me so... I'm gonna get ready for a ding/WL email this weekend. That being said, I want all you guys to know that even if you get an email, you will be accepted to other schools. It's so early in the process and having one school out might actually be nice, cause it's one less thing to worry about and narrows down your the vast # of places you could end up, which personally caused me a lot of anxiety.
I personally understand that the adcoms are pressured by rankings and need the #, but I will still be disappointed if I just get a flat out ding. Same goes for my feelings about some of the people I've met here- you guys are awesome! Keep it up and good news will come! I do, however, think that GULC is more # focused on the spectrum of (top) schools, so don't let this one decision (if it's negative) discourage you !!
