Patiently waiting here. Would be nice to know something in the near future though. It has been very quiet latelymissinglink wrote:Is anyone out there still waiting for a decision from UCLA? I had expected a ding by now, but so far nothing.
I'm already settled, but it would be nice to not have this hanging in the wind.

Re: UCLA?
I just got in off the waitlist. Dean Schwartz said they wanted to make a decision on my financial aid package tomorrow. Other than needsaccess and the fafsa is there any other forms that I need to send in? I should of asked when I got the call but was not thinking clearly. Thanks.

Thank you! Yes, I will be attending. I won't share my exact numbers, but I'm a high GPA, low LSAT splitter.Mosca wrote:Congratulations! Will you be attending? Do you mind sharing your numbers?beaumondep wrote:Off the waitlist via phone call from Dean Schwartz at 9 am this morning!

Re: UCLA?
I got in off the waitlist earlier this month. 3.9/165, UCLA undergrad. I didn't get any merit-grants but I got a need-based one that was comparable to the merit/need grant I got from Cornell. Hope that helps, and good luck!

That's hilarious. I think its plausible. What will it take to get UCLA up the #14 spot though?jay115 wrote:I think UCLA is really digging in it's heels to become known as the #1 critical race studies law school in the country, haha.Hopefullawstudent wrote:What do people think of the new Dean announcement?

Re: UCLA?
In all honesty, I think Texas has a better chance than UCLA. UCLA needs money to jump up into the T14, and Cali is cutting state funding to state institutions whereas Texas is funneling a shitton of oil money into the UTexas system. Although with the oil spill crisis, I suppose all us UCLA students can only hope haha.Hopefullawstudent wrote:That's hilarious. I think its plausible. Brentwood because Westwood is A) expensive, B) full of undergrads, and C) a little college bubble, which I don't want to live in.Hopefullawstudent wrote:jay, have you chosen a place to live yet? if so, where and why?jay115 wrote:In all honesty, I think Texas has a better chance than UCLA. Also, people who live in Weyburn still have to take the UCLA shuttle (or bike/walk a decent way uphill) to get to the law school, so I figure adding 10 minutes to the bus ride to the law school doesn't outweigh the hundreds of dollars I save on rent a month. Weyburn is between $1000-1500/month, and everything in Brentwood is between $700-900/month.

Re: UCLA?
About as old as the debate: would you like to get shot running through the ghettos of LA getting to class at USC, or go to UCLA and live 15 minutes away near from the Santa Monica boardwalk?ajauffret wrote:Just got the call from R.S. this morning...
