Yea, mine went complete on 10/29, and I just looked today and it changed to today's date. Wonder if it is significant.

Re: In at Tennessee 2010
knoxville is a fun city - went to TN UG. COL is cheap and QOL isn't bad. I40 is a nightmare to commute, so try to live near the University. Avoid living in the fort...student ghetto with keg parties at 2 am on a Tuesday. Also, Volunteer Hall is horrid, used to be an off campus apartment complex, was purchased by the school for farrr too much money a year or so ago. Cheaply built, and obnoxious UG parties - if you like to party it's a great place, but I don't suggest it for a law school address.

I'm in, got a phone call this morning. I went complete on 10/29, and the date on my status checker changed yesterday afternoon. So if your date has changed, it is probably a good sign. Numbers: 160/3.83

I'm also in via phone call this morning, but didn't go complete until 11/12. That's a damn fine turn-around time!
Numbers 160/3.49 In-state.
Congrats to me and those also on this board who have been accepted! Good luck to the rest! (I don't mean to imply that you need it, just that waiting sucks!)

Re: In at Tennessee 2010
does anybody think it would be benificial for me to send in a "why UT" essay? In my personal statement, I included that I really want to attend UTK and work in tennessee, but would another essay specifying that UTK is my top choice do any more good? numbers- 3.0, 162

Accepted at Tennessee by phone call today! Anyone know when scholarship stuff is announced? Also anyone care to compare it to Alabama in terms of job prospects?

Everything I've heard about UT has been great, but it's no Alabama. It all depends on where you want to practice--UT does very well in state from Memphis to Nash to the dirty Knox. UT also has small presence in Atlanta, but if you're looking at Atlanta, UGA would be much better and Bama would also be better. If you end up with similar scholarships at both UA and UT, take Bama.tarheel87 wrote:Accepted at Tennessee by phone call today! Anyone know when scholarship stuff is announced? Thanks, jeep, you continue to be extremely helpful every time I have a question and Lord knows I have plenty. Anyways I'm probably going to be looking at UNC v. UGA if I choose a public school but that Bama scholly sure doesn't look bad right now.jeeptiger09 wrote:Everything I've heard about UT has been great, but it's no Alabama. Re: In at Tennessee 2010
Did you guys all get in via phone call from Ms. Britton? Still waiting on that 865 area code.
And tarheel congrats on UT, UGA and Bama. The people I know at all three schools love them (actually headed to Athens this weekend). PM if you have any other questions.

Don't know if this helps, but the phone call will have an 865 area code but it will also start with 974. Those are the university numbers. (I went there for undergrad). So look for 865-974.....

I asked about scholarship information and was advised that scholarships would be awarded after the first of the year.

I think people either love it or hate it. I love it, but everyone I know that didn't go to UT thinks it is a concrete jungle and a dump.lml09 wrote:In at Tennessee via phone call 11/13.

The good: you are only around 30 minutes to the mountains & from some great trout fishing, hiking, kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, etc.; UT football games are fun; Knoxville is a pretty big city with every amenity you need but again, you can get away to the mountains & country in less than a half hour.
The bad: lots of concrete on campus; seems to be a big transient population & crime rate for its size; tons of rednecks and hillbillies nearby (I grew up in East TN & live in MS so I can say this with confidence).

Re: In at Tennessee 2010
I personally love knoxville. I lived in chattanooga all my life and knoxville is pretty similar, just a little bit bigger. The outdoors are great and the overall city is really beautiful in my opinion.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
