It strikes me that your society has a very narrow middle class between guttersnipes like CB and aristocrats like me.Kronk wrote:Which is totally fine because I have a trip to the guillotine planned for all of you above 173.CardinalRules wrote:He does take insults from such plebeians concerning his factual errors, though.crackberry wrote:Touche.Kronk wrote:Please crackberry. I haven't thought it through totally. Just don't tell any of my adversaries. They may realize their 98 percent of the population significantly outsizes (though can not hope to outclass) my 2 percent.CardinalRules wrote:It strikes me that your society has a very narrow middle class between guttersnipes like CB and aristocrats like me.

lol just found a typo in my PS. I read that thing a million times, a bunch of other people read it, and we all missed me using "my" when I should've used "me." ADMISSION RESCINDED!?

Not to mention that you should have said "my using 'my'" in the above quote.

When you have a 4.1/177, you get to make a typo or two on your application. Even at Yale.tomhobbes wrote:lol just found a typo in my PS. I read that thing a million times, a bunch of other people read it, and we all missed me using "my" when I should've used "me." ADMISSION RESCINDED!?
btw, congrats TH! It must be fun to get accepted by YLS and SLS within the span of two or three days.

Should I start worrying if I sent app on 2/01 and haven't heard anything back (i.e. "complete") yet?

Re: Yale 2010
I submitted at the beginning of January and went complete at the beginning of February. So I have no idea whether I was an Asha admit or a faculty admit. How long do you guys think it takes to circulate a file to all three profs? I got the impression that they don't make three copies and have the three profs simultaneously review them; it seemed like they read it one at a time. Not that it matters, really.crackberry wrote:Eh, I think TH was clearly an Asha-admit. He was only complete for like a week before being admitted. I don't know about clyde_barrow (who also completed the HYS sweep), but he got in really fast to both H and S, so he may have been Asha-admit as well. Chopsticks I know nothing about. I wouldn't give up yet. Who knows what's going on with faculty review.

We'll never know, but I don't think that a file could have been circulated to three professors and individually evaluated during the time between your completion and decision.chopsticks3092 wrote:I submitted at the beginning of January and went complete at the beginning of February. I dunno, about four weeks between completion and decision might be enough time for that. It's really hard to say. I haven't studied LSN in detail, but it seems like most people reported about a month and a half between completion and decision.CardinalRules wrote:We'll never know, but I don't think that a file could have been circulated to three professors and individually evaluated during the time between your completion and decision.chopsticks3092 wrote:I submitted at the beginning of January and went complete at the beginning of February. I’m pretty sure that it was exactly one month from complete until phone call (2/15 – 3/15). And I know that I was fac reviewed since Amar mentioned to me at ASP that he was one of my readers.tomhobbes wrote:I dunno, about four weeks between completion and decision might be enough time for that. Wow, is that cool. A little while ago I was one of those musing over whether we could ascertain if we were fac review (the ones Asha called out). This was the very reason: I wanted to prepare myself for some faculty member to know me intimately before ever meeting me.Ranita wrote:I’m pretty sure that it was exactly one month from complete until phone call (2/15 – 3/15). Paus, aren't you doing a PhD currently? If so, you've already had this experience.Pausanias wrote:Wow, is that cool. Same. Here we go. For the next few weeks, I'm going to be disappointed when my cell rings and the area code is something other than 203.crackberry wrote:Asha: you complete(d) me.

At least you're both complete late. No more than a month and change of pain before [strike]the letter arrives[/strike] the phone ringsDignan wrote:Same. Here we go. Other admissions deans need to to follow suit and blog about the process in such (useful) detail.
