Same here... "Hold = Reject?"
Does anyone have a read on this? App was not worth a waitlist?
Any insight would be appreciated....

Your application for admission to the University of Miami School of Law has been reviewed and no final decision has been made at this time. Your credentials qualify you to be placed in a hold category and your application will be reconsidered prior to April 30th.
I am sorry that it is not possible to predict the outcome or the exact date of the Admissions Committee's ultimate decision with regard to your application. We are, however, quite anxious to have as much information as possible about applicants held for further consideration. We invite you, therefore, to feel free to submit relevant materials which you want taken into account when your application comes before the Committee again. This might include a new LSAT score, final grades, a personal statement not included in your original application, or any other information that you consider to be of pertinence.
We will notify you of any change in your status as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,
Michael L. Goodnight
Assistant Dean of Admissions

I have been waitlisted twice by UM! WTF! Odd thing is, my lsat is 164. http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/ramjam
That is what I thought, so I took a look at the first letter and it is different, and dated differently, of course. The first letter says, "your application will placed on hold and reviewed", the second letter says, "your application has been placed in a hold category and will be reviewed again between April and May".
Waitlisted me twice! I am withdrawing... GL to all.

Re: In at UMiami
Um, stupid question -- did anyone email back with a "thank you" when you got the email saying you were getting a scholarship?
and does anyone know if you defer your acceptance a year, if you'll still receive the scholarship when you do enroll? (that is if they let you defer)...
And oops, just saw in my spam the email about the online chat session. i guess it is halfway through by now...

The chat session is pretty chaotic which is making it quite difficult for people to get their questions answered unforunately.

students at UM this year had to sit on the stairs and other "weird" places because more people than the school expected accepted their offers.

To be hoenst, it was a bunch of people spamming non-stop and was very hard to follow. I was actually surprised by the amount of people spaming things along the lines of "I have a 152 LSAT and a 3.x GPA, will I get in??"msv5010 wrote:Couldn't make the chat tonight. I think it's great that Miami offers chat sessions, but this one wasn't very helpful. I guess I was under the impression that it was admitted students only, but that chat will come next week apparently.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
