Yes, and I'm standing by that. Still, I'm expecting that some (but not all) of the pre-Dec. 1 crowd will get acceptances tomorrow.

There are actually quite a few. In wicker park there's Handlebar, Earwax and Mana. There's also Green Zebra and Karyn's (which is closer to the law school). Those are the ones I've been to. They're all quite good.

Horrible name, awesome food. There's also a vegan fast food restaurant in Wicker called Veggie Bite.

vegan fast food? chicago is my new favorite town. you hear that NU? i <3 chicago.

Chicago = Best food in America.

We can even do a New York Strip Steak better than New York. (guess that doesn't go with the vegan theme from the above posts.)

Going to the Portillos on Ontario for dinner tonight, I'm so excited for a Combo, Cheese fries and a shake.

Don't know, the bar scene near Streeterville isn't great. I've never gone drinking there. A NU law student could tell you probably.

Best Burger King? Best Chick-fill-a?

Chicago doesn't have Chick-fill-a. I don't live close enough to NU to tell you which BK is better, but I've eaten at the McDonald's a block away that is in a parking structure and it sucks. The only near the red line station is better.

I think Chick-Fill-a is actually entering the Chicago market soon. They've already creeped their way into Illinois.

Also, whoever mentioned Smoke for ribs (I believe you meant Smoque), -- Agreed. Amazing ribs. Be prepared to wait though.



I'll stop pulling up all the food topics for now, although I do have a real question.

I had a late December received date, and then my app didn't go complete forever & even went through a week long period of 'your app will be complete after you complete your interview' after having completed my interview. Then when I checked my status today my complete date was the same as my received date (Late December).

Any thoughts on what this means? Do you think they'll stick with the listed date for the '8 week' timeline?

when I got my hold notice, I had checked my status about 30 minutes before I got the email and it had not changed.

it's friday. my hometown team is playing in the super bowl this weekend. there are carnival parades already winding their way through town and all i can manage to do is f5 nu's twitter page... even though i know that if there is an update it won't come until at least after 4p.

i should have said "it might not come until after 4p." looks like they've tweeted at about 3p or so the last few times, but yesterday the update came closer to 5p.
