Spoke with a lovely man from the office and he said my file should read complete and am still eligible for ED. Phew. Wasn't sure what happened. It's strange, because the status checker email mentions needing the original ED cert by mail and a hard copy of the LSDAS through the mail in order to be complete. I guess it just needs to be updated?

Interviewed today off-campus. Really enjoyable experience, and also interesting that my interviewer was not a lawyer.

Not a practicing lawyer, or no jd?

They seem to be really big on promoting career opportunities outside of law for NU JDs. My interviewer told me they have a speaker come in once a month who is an NU Law alum that has been successful in a career outside of law.

I'm pretty sure NU is not very disciplined when it comes to updating or sending things in a timely fashion. My status checker was stuck at "Pending" for two weeks. Then, on 11/24, it suddenly went to "Complete as of 11/10." I wouldn't read too much into long delays or not getting a checker yet.

Yeah. I had to request my status checker.

Okay, looked at some numbers. On LSN the ED acceptances in '05, '07 and '08 came on December 14th, 11th and 18th. So there's anywhere from a week to three weeks until the ED acceptances are out.

LSN has no ED acceptances for '03, '04, and '06, and only two acceptances for each of the other three years. So not a great sample size. But in all three years the two ED acceptances each year both found out the same day.

In 2008-2009 it went: ED accepts in mid-Dec, then ED rejects in late Dec, then RD accepts in Jan. In 2007-2008 it went: ED accepts in early Dec, then ED rejects and RD accepts concurrently in mid-Dec.

It's freaking me out a little that I'll know the answer in a couple weeks.

- If somebody has an ED accept and I don't, I'm probably out.
- If somebody has an RD accept and I'm not in, I'm probably about to hear that I'm out.
- If Christmas comes and I'm not accepted, I'm probably out.

Of course, other than out I could also be deferred to RD or WL. And they could always change up their pattern in a million different ways. But going by the last two years, by Christmas I'll either know that I'm in or know that I'm not. Kind of ruins the holiday if it's not good news. Or totally energizes the holiday if it is good news.

Sorry, I should probably hold my pessimism to myself.

At least you won't wait forever. Some ED people in the Georgetown thread have been complete for a month and aren't even under review yet.

My completion was pending an interview. Had my off site interview 11/30. Complete 12/1. My interviewer must have been on the ball!

Well damn. I applied ED at Northwestern and assumed I would have to wait till January to know anything. Thanks for the heads up about this. I don't know about you but I am in a perpetual state of nervousness these days, wavering between "I'm royally F'ED" and...well, "I'm royally F'ED."

I interviewed last night in NYC. Really fun conversation; we spent well over 20 minutes talking about the World Cup though. Don't know how much he'll be able to tell them in an interview report!

You can't spell "I'm royally F'ED." without "ED."

Hey neat. Today is the first time my status checker says I'm complete, including the interview. The complete date says 12/1, so I guess it took them a few days to get it in the system.

Had my interview last night. If you've ever been on an interview with behavioral based questions (example: Tell me a weakness, Tell me about yourself, what is your leadership style...e.t.c) it was exactly like that. Mine lasted about an hour, met up at a coffee place. Good luck everyone!

Those are garbage questions. That's disappointing.

Out of curiosity, did many of you write a NW specific PS, or just send the one you sent everyone else with a 'Why NW' addendum?

Wrote both of the optional statements.

edit: Tailored the regular PS to Northwestern in addition to the two optional statements. Spent more time in the PS talking about myself since there was an option to submit the why Northwestern.
