Late to this, but as of Fall 2007, law schools were no longer required to average scores: --LinkRemoved--. This article explicitly states that Berkeley and Stanford will focus solely on the highest score.

I don't want to reignite your anxiety, but I sent a message to the admissions office today updating them about my new LSAT score. They replied.

Do they average scores?

I know they claim they do on their FAQs site. But right after that, they talk about statistical significance of scores within the s.d., which makes me think they might take the higher score if it's a significant increase...
They've changed their policy to taking the highest score. This is what I was told when I called in October... plus it's proven because I and others with multiple scores were accepted.

Aren't they closed until 1/7/10? Meaning they'll open Friday, not tomorrow?

if its anything like last years according the LSN, theres about 2-2.5 weeks left of acceptance give outs before the gigantic rejection waves begin. Hopefully we can make it in on the calm before the rejection storm begins and floods TLS.

Does this mean most of their acceptances are done early, or do acceptances keep coming out after the waves of rejections?

Also I <3 bananas in pajamas.

The other Berkeley twitter (http://twitter.com/BerkeleyLawNews) and their furlough plan (--LinkRemoved--) suggest they do actually re-open tomorrow (tomorrow being Thursday, Jan 7th).

They only just opened 30 min ago for the first time since right before Christmas. I'd expect a status checker soon.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
