This is for real. You can look me up on LSN. I'm so unbelievably excited. I must have sounded like a total fool on the phone.

+1 (minus an unrealistic and unforeseen acceptance at YHS).Veritas wrote:me too, it's far and away my #1crackberry wrote:Oh man, now my heart will really jump when my phone rings. Ugh I want Berkeley so bad.

Same here. But I seem to have gone under review a bit later than most of you, so I should try to be patient...crackberry wrote:Oh man, now my heart will really jump when my phone rings. Ugh I want Berkeley so bad.

+1. Way to go! Hopefully this year there isn't a big gap between the special first admit and the first real wave of calls.tintin wrote:CONGRATS!! omg im jealous! that is great.

Look at LSN for all my numbers and dates.
He basically just told me that I was accepted and then listened to me freak out with joy.
No status checker change.

Don't worry about status checkers. Last year I don't remember anyone learning of an acceptance via status checker. I do seem to remember some rejections coming out that way, or something about getting an e-mail to check your status checker and it was a rejection. I feel old because I really can't remember how it all worked.

Berkeley seems to be damn quick in making an application complete. I just recently sent mine in and I'm already complete.

Well they do get image reports so it's got to be pretty fast. Chicago and UVA have been quick too and they use image reports as well. Stanford on the other hand...JollyGreenGiant wrote:Berkeley seems to be damn quick in making an application complete. I just recently sent mine in and I'm already complete.

Re: Berkeley 2010
I'm so glad I went complete early at Stanford.. so I can wait 6 months.
Berkeley is a school I've always had strong adoration towards. I feel sad that I just got the app out and didn't get it out earlier.. but it would be a Christmas present to me if I get accepted before then. They are definitely in my top 5 of schools I'd like to attend.

Re: Berkeley 2010
So, I have this add-on for Firefox called LeechBlock, where I can block certain websites for certain periods of time. Naturally, I have to block TLS while I'm at work, so I can get anything done. Anyway, it unblocks during lunchtime. I logged onto TLS, assuming I'd see 383927492384 Berkeley acceptances. When I didn't, I was super pissed, I guess because any movement is good movement. Then, I realized it's 9am in California. Moral of the story: I have until about 10pm my time to continue freaking the fuck out.

Re: Berkeley 2010
I am probably the most shocked person out of everyone. My only suggestion is that I met Dean Tom in person at an info session he gave at my undergrad. After the event, I went up to him, introduced myself, and asked a question. When I talked to him on the phone, he remembered me from that. So, I guess if Cal is having an info session in your area, definitely go?
Also, for those that are curious, my PS was a little over 3 pages.

We didn't get any top schools are our grad fair. It was pretty disappointing. Anyways congratulations again!!zaichka wrote:I am probably the most shocked person out of everyone. It's possible there is no one I'd rather receive a phone call from than Dean Tom. Maybe Dean Faye, though the suburbia-bubbleness of Stanford is starting to lean me towards Berkeley.

I had another idea about what could have helped me: I may have also been the first person to submit an app to Berkeley since I clicked the button within half an hour of apps being made available.
