You're right. I just visited the finaid website again and noticed at the top of the page that it's the 2008-2009 costs. False alarm. Thanks for pointing that out.

Does anyone know how long it should take for "application received" to switch to "application completed" on the online status checker?

My status has been displaying "application received" since 2/13. I'm a little concerned since the regular decision deadline for submitting all supporting documentation is this Sunday.

As far as I know, my package should be complete--application, personal statement, why smu?, 2 lor's, lsdas, and resume.

Thanks!

You should call or email them. I applied EA and was nervous when it still wasn't App Complete the day before the deadline. Apparently, my fee waiver code didn't register in the system, so my application wasn't considered complete because of the "missing" fee. They updated it to complete within an hour.

Okay, I called. Maggie confirmed they had received my documentation additions and told me that are still processing the applications submitted right before the 2/15 deadline. So they're running behind on updating the online status.

Some of my supporting documentation wasn't ready by the 2/15 deadline, but those docs are subject to a separate 2/28 deadline. That was the cause of my concern, those last pieces of the application package.

She said not to worry, as long as I've submitted everything the status will eventually be updated.

Mine was received on 1/15 and didn't go complete until 2/3. There was nothing missing or added after the 15th, it just takes a while. When I get impatient I just remind myself that it is a crazy time of year for the people in the admissions office.

Thanks for the info. I don't think I'm impatient with the process, I was more concerned that I had missed a step in the application. This is what happens to people who wait until the deadline! :)

In with $25300 per year!!! I received the call about 12:30. I'm still smiling, and can't believe my good fortune.

My stats are 2.11 169 (URM). I applied on 12/23, and went complete on 1/22. My status changed to Deciision Rendered on 2/23. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Are they reviewing PT first? I applied for FT on 12/30, went complete on 1/20. SMU is the last school I need to hear from and I just want this to be over soon.

I don't think they are reviewing PT first. The majority that have heard back so far are full time. I think everyone that has posted status checker updates or acceptance phone calls this week has been FT, but I may have missed one.

So...we had a small number of FT admits in the middle of the week, and nothing on Friday. This admissions cycle is proceeding very strangely. I'm going to disregard all previous threads at this point, as they are now 2 weeks behind last year's schedule, and DR'ing and admitting people in a very sporadic, unpredictable manner. Admissions are no longer coming in waves as they have in the past, but I suppose this could change at any time.

Got my new LSAT. Considering switching from PT to FT (or at least asking SMU to review my app for FT as well instead of just for PT).

I'm in a similar situation. I originally asked to be considered for both FT (preference) and PT. I went Complete on 2/3 and haven't heard anything. Now that I've had time to think about it harder I actually prefer the PT to FT and think I have a much more realistic shot getting into the PT with my numbers. Is it too late to send the committee a letter mentioning my preference for the PT now or should I just let it all play out?

In your case, I would let it play out. The reason I'm asking is because I applied for PT ONLY and did not ask to be considered for FT at all (my LSAT was too low to have a shot; now my LSAT is at their 75th and LSN indicates I should get in). Have to work on my letter.

I would also let it play out. I had numbers just good enough for PT and selected both PT and FT, and they just offered me a spot in the PT program. I doubt it hurts to say you'd prefer FT.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my status checker went from Held for further review to Application Complete on 2/25/2010. What does that mean. I didnt recieved a call so i'm assuming its bad news but why not say decision rendered or something like that, why go back to app complete. I'm so confuse.

If you PREFER PT, then I would let them know.
If they ended up giving you FT, but you WANTED PT, that would stink.

Just received my packet in today. SMU really went above and beyond putting this packet together. Very impressive.
