I thought I'd be able to relax once I got my purple envelope, but even knowing that I'm into one of my very, very top choices, I can't bear the thought of losing a UGPA-contingent scholarship at another top school. So much for a smooth-sailing senior year.

On the other hand, I assume we're all pretty Type A. We'd probably do the work anyway because who wants Bs when you can have As?

What??? Sorry, my brain is fried from reading this forum all day, but I have no idea how you reached that conclusion.

Have any international students received their packet yet?
:( sowwy. where are you getting mail?
Canada! Canada! I'm your neighbor! Lol. 10 minutes from the US border and still international. Usually, I am amused by this. Today, less so.

USPS has a free mail-forwarding service. I'm using that for Christmas break, it's much easier to have your mail forwarded than to call each individual school.

https://moversguide.usps.com/icoa/flow. ... 5346FFDB9F

It says change your address, but you can set it up as a temporary forwarding account.

The admissions office told me that they hadn't mailed anything to me yet, so if they mailed it to my school address now, I most likely wouldn't be here to get it. Therefore I am asking them to mail it to where I will be.

I have thought about doing this, but what if they misplace the acceptance letter? How would you ever know if they lost it or just haven't contacted you? Thats too big of a risk for me to take.

I got the envelope and had to open it in another room away from my roommate in case it was a denial.

In! :D

I just figure the probability of them losing the mail isn't all that much greater than if my mail wasn't forwarded. Plus it's either this or wait a whole month without any letters. Most of the schools I'm waiting to hear back from have status checkers so I should know if I should be expecting a letter or not, and therefore whether or not the mail has been lost.

I'm just worried about NYU, but if I get a nice letter from them by Thursday then I might forward mine as well since all other schools have status checkers (whether they update them or not is another issue).

I wouldn't put it past the post office to lose your mail because of this forwarding service though. I put my mail on hold once and it took them 3 weeks to find it all. I am not sure how mail forwarding work, but I can only imagine that if the desired delivery address isn't on the envelope that it has an equal chance to be forwarded to Santa as it does to arrive at my permanent address.

I just hope when I come back for Spring semester that I have 12 acceptance letter waiting :D . I also hope I will be less anxious if I know that theres no way I will hear anything before Jan 18th, but I will probably drive up every weekend just to check my mail :? .

Damn this thread. I wasn't expecting decisions so early. I know I shoudln't be expecting mine since I didn't submit my ED until 11/13 and didn't go complete until the first but this thread has me anxious.

I also have a 3.6 gpa and 171 LSAT so I'm not an auto admit or reject and shouldn't expect anything soon.

But congrats to all those who have gotten in. I'm very jealous.

I need to keep an eye on you. If you get accepted before me I am definitely screwed. Similar stats, ED, and complete 11/25.

Unfortunately true. I could slack off... but then I'd feel bad.

Let me know what happens when you get your decision. I'm curious, and by curious I mean dying, to know how people similar to me are fairing.

Are they sending these to your permanent, or your mailing address?
