Same here. Do you think they've taken so long because we're headed to the wait-list, or do you think we've still got a legitimate shot? My numbers are exactly median if you take the higher of my two scores, and I am non URM...hopefulundergrad wrote:Still twiddling my thumbs over here waiting from any word from NYU. 11/10 complete date.

I'm WL/reject bound. 172 2.7 URM. Haven't broken into CCN yet, although tbf, I've only applied to CN and got WL'ed at Chicago ED.js87 wrote:Same here. ditto.
FWIW, when I applied to schools two years ago (ugh, yes, this is my second cycle), I submitted my app on 1/15 and a decision was made on 2/13...

I don't mean to offend.. but if your first cycle didn't go so hot that you needed a second cycle, why are you applying so late (again)?runnerman wrote:hannah87 wrote:just got completion email. i applied on 12/29.

yea, even though i don't want to accept this, i think that for those of us that applied a while ago, it we're not in yet it isn't happening.bloodonthetracks wrote:not even close. check out last year's stats: http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... r=desc&p=2Seems like for admits, decisions could start coming in early Feb. for us.

Re: NYU 2010
I know this may be true, but it is so hard to accept. LSAC.org puts my chances at NYU at between 60%-70%, plus being a combat vet and applying ED I would have thought that would boost my chances at least a little bit. At this point I'm thinking what in the world did I do wrong? I must have screwed something up... blah, that’s the only way I can really explain my cycle up to this pointgahthelaw wrote:yea, even though i don't want to accept this, i think that for those of us that applied a while ago, it we're not in yet it isn't happening.bloodonthetracks wrote:not even close. check out last year's stats: http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... r=desc&p=2Seems like for admits, decisions could start coming in early Feb. for us.

Sort it by when the apps were sent on LSN. There are lots of people who applied Dec. 30-early to mid January who were accepted by the first or second week of February.Jericwithers wrote:-1.gahthelaw wrote:yea, even though i don't want to accept this, i think that for those of us that applied a while ago, it we're not in yet it isn't happening.bloodonthetracks wrote:not even close. check out last year's stats: http://nyu.lawschoolnumbers.com/applica ... r=desc&p=2Seems like for admits, decisions could start coming in early Feb. for us.

Re: NYU 2010
I havn't found a single person with stats like mine who applied in the same time frame who had not gotten accepted by this point last year. Crap. However, it doesn't look too bad for people who applied Nov with 170's LSAT and 3.6ish GPA's.

It took them almost 2 weeks to acknowledge mine, probably because I sent it on 1/1. Just went complete today.boilercat wrote:just got an e-mail from them today saying they received my app. submitted a little over a week ago.
I applied for some of the scholarships, and I am assuming it's valid as long as I submitted on January 1st, regardless of when they processed it, right?

Re: NYU 2010
Ok, so, I understand looking at LSN.com and trying to figure out where you stand from last year's numbers. But....does everyone realize that the people on LSN is a tiny little sliver of the whole applicant pool? It's somewhere around 5% to 10%. So to look at that site and say that you'll never get in because XYZ didn't get in last year is kind of ridiculous. I've been reading these boards for a couple months and it just makes me want to laugh out loud every time some high horse 0L comes on to a board and tells someone they'll never get in to ABC Law School. Numbers can be an indicator, but seeing as how none of us are on an admissions committee, we really have no idea.

Right, but if there's nothing but a sea of red around your numbers on the LSN graph, what do you think that tells you about your chances?AliceB wrote:Ok, so, I understand looking at LSN.com and trying to figure out where you stand from last year's numbers. but as an 0L that's gotten into a few schools already and knows a bunch of people in law school (and how their cycles went), it is you that makes me want to laugh. Of course numbers aren't everything but you better have a fucking INCREDIBLE story to tell...
http://duke.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/0809/
statistically speaking, I'm sure that you can report a confidence interval of say 90% or so? based on 25-75%'s
I'm not saying numbers are everything, but don't come here and kid yourself, they mean more than anything else by FAR

They're probably not good, but that doesn't mean that there's absolutely not chance you're going to get in. If that were the case, schools like Stanford and Berkley would have higher averages. But they don't, because it's not completely about 2 numbers.scribelaw wrote:Right, but if there's nothing but a sea of red around your numbers on the LSN graph, what do you think that tells you about your chances?AliceB wrote:Ok, so, I understand looking at LSN.com and trying to figure out where you stand from last year's numbers. I'm not saying that I don't think numbers matter, but I just get sick of people on here telling fellow posters to go jump off a cliff with the authority of an Admissions Dean.
