talked to a VERY nice lady, who told me that it hadn't been mailed yet, but would be soon, and I could expect it possibly early next week
On the one hand I'm scared/nervous/worried.. on the other hand I at least have an idea when my (waitlist/rejection from second batch) will be arriving

I like the optimism. I looked on LSN, and it seemed like there were several waves of acceptance letters in December last year. Keepin' the hope alive.gahthelaw wrote:!! they're probably sealing the envelopes of our fate right now. argh.Drew2010 wrote:Couldn't take it anymore, so I called and asked if a decision had been mailed yet...

I have such hopeless anxiety, that I have talked myself into the idea that the lady at the front desk lied to me because she didn't want to be bothered, and a mailing is on its way.

Re: NYU 2010
Looks like last year on LSN, rejections didn't start coming steadily (though still in between a lot of acceptances) till 1/15... so a decision mailed around now is probably a good sign!facetious wrote:this is why i have avoided calling. i have been trying to hold onto the last glimmers of hope. sad, but thanks for doing the dirty work drew. time to go commiserate in the bitter pessimism thread i suppose.Drew2010 wrote:Couldn't take it anymore, so I called and asked if a decision had been mailed yet...

...which is also why I've avoided calling. Because it'd be really embarrassing to be laughed at by someone random over the phone about how there's no chance in hell that I'm getting a decision anytime soon, and to know what that really means.

How long does it take for people to get a decision from nyu after receiving the notice of completion email? I got my email 12/8, so I'm hoping for a decision soon. Are rejections via email or letter? Does anyone know?

You were complete two days ago, and you expect a decision soon? Unless you're ED, I doubt it (but I understand your desire for efficiency).fsr2 wrote:How long does it take for people to get a decision from nyu after receiving the notice of completion email? I went about a month between completion and decision.

Re: NYU 2010
by some conjecture and lsn, it looks like the first wave of RDs may be done and the rest of the decisions will be for us ED folk. since you just went complete, i would have to say that you are not in the first wave of RDs and won't be hearing until the new year.fsr2 wrote:How long does it take for people to get a decision from nyu after receiving the notice of completion email? Actually, I applied 10/17. But went complete 11/03, too. I actually think I'm going to quit TLS until finals are over. This is taking a nasty toll on my GPA.starsong wrote:Isn't that what TLS is for?Saya wrote: You give me hope!

+1. but camping out by my mailbox everyday waiting for my purple envelope only to be spat on by the mailman everyday is making finals similarly impossible to focus on.Saya wrote:Actually, I applied 10/17.
