It was a slide-out container with all of CLS's major publications included, really impressive looking.
That makes 2 really impressive packages from Columbia along with the informative acceptance folder and the "inside New York 2010" guide.
I am SO EXCITED about this. It sounds awesome.
Columbia is kind of winning with the "sending shiny glossy things" thing.

Yay! I was wondering when it was coming. I have the one from last year that a friend gave me but can't wait to see the updated stuff!

I also got the blue box in the mail yesterday. It's pretty sweet - has a curriculum guide, summer and winter editions of the columbia law magazine, book on intellectual property at columbia, and a bunch of other stuff too. I have to say that the cover that features ruth bader ginsburg is pretty terrifying though. it's a super close up of her face and the shot isn't very flattering.
edit: also, maybe we should take talk about admitted materials into the other thread, since I'm sure it's kind of frustrating to hear about them if you're still waiting for your decision.

i really needed a new lanyard for my keys and columbia kinda let me down there. im using my duke lanyard for now and will continue to do so as a CLS c/o 2013, until CLS sends me one.

I'm registered for the February LSAT, and today I got an email from Columbia saying that, given my plans to retake in February, they assume I'm requesting an exception to their policy of only accepting administrations up to December. In order for them to grant that exception, I would have to submit a written request, and the review of my application would be delayed.
My plan is to write back and ask them to proceed with the review of my application.
Good idea?
I have a 3.6, 173, which, I'm thinking, could be waitlist territory at Columbia. I was hoping that a higher score on the Feb LSAT might give me some little bump and help me get off that waitlist, should I land there. I'm willing to give it a shot, in any case. Any thoughts?
Here's my tale just for future reference. I signed up for the Feb LSAT after applying to Columbia in late Dec. Unlike the above poster they never sent me an email about the Feb LSAT, and I didn't tell them to hold my app for the score. They reviewed with my Dec LSAT score and put me on the waitlist (as I expected). Now it's just a matter of seeing what my Feb LSAT score is and hoping it might be enough to bump me from the waitlist.
Score comes in about a week. Fingers crossed!

Any neurotic stalkers of the 2009 thread know when the rest of the merit aid is announced?

Thanks!
I think I'm still a Chicago-lean but if they give me
nothing as far as money goes then we'll see.

I have a request for all those willing and I am posting this in the two places where I feel it is most relevant (and hopefully will get responses).
Is anyone willing to critique my Columbia LOCI? If so, I would be beyond grateful for any assistance.

I'll take a peek if you want. I'm not too experienced with LOCI, but I am a pretty good editor in general. hopefully I'd be able to provide some useful input
