Yeah, this would be a good thing to know.

Yes, it would be strange. I would just talk up specific CLS programs and how they'll help you reach your PI goals.

I think that it would be strange, because I guarantee that the CLS adcomms don't view their school as deficient vis-a-vis NYU in terms of PI opportunities.
Thanks.

I had a clear PI focus in my application and I had no trouble with Columbia. I think those worries are generally overblown.

You also had a 180. I think they might imagine taking a risk with you could be worth it.

sorry to hear that..do you have any acceptances yet?
Sorry, forgot to respond to this. No acceptances from any T14's yet. Just two from W&M and USF, both of which I applied to for personal reasons, but do not plan to attend.

I also had a clear PI focus... and a 169.
Just throwing another example out there.

(Unless your point was that the "yield risk" CLS took of possibly losing dutchstriker to NYU's supposed PI focus was worth it for the potential gain of his/her 180... in which case, nevermind, cause CLS doesn't really have to worry about my 169 being snatched up by NYU :D )

What's been the trend with grade requests so far? Do these people tend to get in, waitlisted, held, etc.?

Recently waitlisted at UVA, and the only school i've gotten into so far is a safety, so i could use some good news...

I suppose, but they also gave me a Hamilton. They could have held me like they've done to others with LSATs close to 180.

I had decided not to send a LOCI unless I didn't hear back until March, but I'm cracking under the strain and getting ready to send one before getting a decision. How long are you guys making yours, & how are you formatting them (single or double-spaced)? I will probably keep mine short, since I don't have much to report other than fear and desperation (and some interesting things at work), but that's about all I know at this point.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I don't think anyone has answered my question yet, so I will ask it again. After complete, what are the other stages of the status checker? Does it go to under review and then decision rendered, or does it just go from complete to decision, or does the status checker still say complete when you get your decision in the mail?

It never changes from complete. That is the last status update you get.

No value in checking the status checker.

So you are saying the status checker stays at complete and you don't know when a decision is coming in the mail?

Exactly. The ensuing speculation and anxiety are the reason why this thread is 170+ pages...

Don't worry, people who live in cupboards under staircases usually end up becoming the chosen ones.
