I was referring to the "cancel work" comment. I know about snow days for school, but I've never heard of businesses just shutting down for snow. It is true, though, that people in DC just can't handle the snow. It's pathetic.

To be fair, 2.5 feet of snow in a 24 hour period is a lot for any place to handle. You could literally be stranded at work for days if you caught it at the wrong time.

Like I said, people in DC can't handle the snow. I lived there for a year after graduation. Every time it snowed, people acted like it was the end of the world.

Chicago is relatively conservative and leans more toward BigLaw than any other T6 except maybe Columbia.

When you say "Chicago," who do you mean? Faculty? Students? How does a school "lean"?

Faculty. I don't know how this rubs off on the students.

And a higher percentage of Chicago grads go into BigLaw than any other T6 except maybe Columbia.

Consequently, my PI-focused PS and thinly veiled liberalism might have rubbed them the wrong way.
