It's definitely given me more hope. But then again, god forbid, you get waitlisted or something without even a JR1... I predict mass hysteria.CoaltoNewCastle wrote:The fact that I'm making people feel less stressed by my not having been contacted yet really makes me feel better about this as well.

Yeah, I predict mass hysteria too. Not just for me, but maybe even some other TLS posters as well. The person I use to feel better is Bai with her 180 and 3.8. She and one or two other posters give me hope that Harvard is just waiting for all the apps to get in before they decide on some of the >75th LSAT, >25th GPA (I hope) applicants.Sogui wrote:It's definitely given me more hope. Edit: Also I'm sleepy and I messed that up. What I meant is that I might get massively hysterical. But I was joking. Although Harvard is my top choice and I really hope I get in.

Maybe some movement this week, then. Any JR1 emails reported today, or just JR2s? (For that matter, is there any particular day when most JR1 emails are sent out?)CoaltoNewCastle wrote:Yeah, I predict mass hysteria too. Re: Harvard 2010!
Like I wrote, it varies. It took them nearly 4 months to hold Crackberry, and a few (like you) got held inside of eight weeks. But the overwhelming majority of Harvard applicants get dinged/held after 8 to 12 weeks.lightbulb1986 wrote:I dont know I sent my app in, got a JR1, got held withing 6 weeks. It makes me think i flubbed the interview??Im a urm so who knows?Dignan wrote:It varies, but dings and holds generally go out 2 to 3 months after the applicant is under review. The Human Fund wrote:Yeah, at least somewhat.CanadianEH wrote:/ relieved.
What I'd like to know is that for applicants who had the similar UR => Complete with no JR1 and eventually were dinged outright, how long the typical wait was for that.

Re: Harvard 2010!
i asked this in another thread but it probably makes more sense to ask here:
I have my jr1 tomorrow and I know as soon as it is over I will start obsessing about the jr2. I was just wondering if international students are getting jr2s as well and if they are, are they getting them during the normal hours (I've heard he does them between 9-5 EST)? I'm in Japan so I need to know if i should go to sleep with the phone next to my head in case he calls in the middle of the night.

i don't think your ability to answer the jr2 is an important admissions criteria. he would probably leave a voicemailZara wrote:i asked this in another thread but it probably makes more sense to ask here:

And I definitely didn't save mine and listen to it every time I felt discouraged about something until it randomly deleted itself from my phone. Nope. Not I.

Re: Harvard 2010!
I have heard that international students often are emailed; sorry for not noticing that detail in your previous post. If you don't have voicemail but see that he called, just call him back.Zara wrote:

He calls international applicants at appropriate times in the applicants' countries. Not necessarily 9-5 local time, but perhaps 8-8 local time.Zara wrote:i asked this in another thread but it probably makes more sense to ask here:

great thanks for the information! do you happen to know if these calls are generally on the same day as domestic applicants?crackberry wrote:He calls international applicants at appropriate times in the applicants' countries. He tried to call me on the same day as domestic applicants (11/23), but he called at 11 pm in my time zone. I also didn't have voicemail so he emailed soon after.

Ah, I have indeed been held! Stupid e-mail ended up in the trash on 1/6. I suppose that puts me out of some of the misery, somewhat.

From someone (albeit non-URM) with basically the exact same dates you mentioned...yes, we should be very worried.Illijah wrote:Still No JR1......

Re: Harvard 2010!
I guess this year not hearing right away isn't as bad. last year it was pretty much: hear back within a week or so or else wait until late march to be rejected or wait-listed. Now one can at least hope for getting held and maybe getting in in March or April.VoidSix wrote:Very worried.
Anyways, anyone willing to venture a guess how many holds have gone out? Is being held that bad? I always thought my best scenario was a WL/in so I'm thrilled to have the opportunity for a nice LOCI essay and two great letters of rec. Sure I know maybe only like 10-20% of holds will get in but thats still a decent chance.

people with holds had their UR date change to the date their hold went out. so if your UR updated, there was likely something sent to you.dcchillin wrote:Do hold emails show up on the status checker mailings? Starting to wonder if my hold email got considered spam.

Re: Harvard 2010!
No JR1 emails have yet been reported this week, have they? No panicking for me until one is reported, then full-on pessimism and assumption of rejection.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
