Why do I have the feeling that they've sent out the batch of "hold" emails, then they'll send out the "waitlist" or "reject" emails (and I'm going to be getting the latter)?

I'm with you on this one, hoping for a waitlist. Only time will tell.

Got the same email and I am in the same boat under review 9/29. Is there any consnsus if this is any better/worse than a waitlist. It feels like a waitlist that's for sure.

I'm having a difficult time finding info on Harvard holds from previous years. Is it appropriate to send a LOCI now or should I wait until I get a WL notification (assuming I even get one)?

I pretty much have nothing to say in my LOCI except "I will attend if you let me".

Really early. The first day they let me in fact, 9/15.

Saw this in the JR1 but no JR2 thread:

Got an email telling me I'm being held today. Guess that is like waitlist+.

So I guess some JR1s but no JR2s are getting holds. I'm confused.

only people who submitted really early are gonna hear about holds today, though, bc they still have time with the rest of us. i guess if you don't hear about a hold today, cb, that is probably a good sign.

Looking on LSAC, it seems you can send additional LORs even after applications are submitted:

The law school report will be updated and sent each time LSAC receives a letter of recommendation.

Not sure if Harvard would prefer it done this way. I would assume so, but check to make sure?

He means people with a JR1 in the "JR1 but no JR2" thread - so some people who have a JR1 are getting held.

Huh? Yes, the JR2 is the admittance phone call. I'm sorry I don't understand what you're saying. My post was just showing that someone who had a JR1 (but had yet to get a JR2) got one of the "hold" emails today.

Got it. Sorry for the confusion. Yeah he was just the first person we know of to get a JR1 and a hold email. Everyone else we know about who got a hold email did not get a JR1.

is it impossible to get off the Harvard waitlist? i applied in September got the hold email today. i knew it would be a LONGGGG shot in every sense of the world and im honored to get waitlisted. i cant help but feel saddened though
