Thank you for ruining my weekend. That is the most depressing thing I've read all week!cpunch wrote:As of 5/8/2009, 8:12pm: Of the 2008-2009 cycle applicants to Northwestern on lawschoolnumbers, who are waitlisted, but have not withdrawn, have not been accepted, have not been rejected, and are not URMs, the median lsat is 170 and the median gpa is 3.68. Just took my first CPA section... An e-mail like that would've really been a pleasant surprise to come home to

Nice stats; I'm surprised you didn't get a straight acceptance instead of WL -> Accept.

FWIW I don't think Northwestern has a second deposit deadline. Hopefully there will be some more acceptances coming in soon.

also, did they tell you to check your status checker, or did they send you a "congrats" e-mail?

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I got in off the waitlist today, which was surprising because when they requested additional materials I didn't send anything in...I don't think I even want it anymore but getting in just complicates everything. I thought I was done with these hard decisions the first time around! I'm secretly hoping not to get in off any more waits which I think means I should just stick with my original choice. But does anyone know how to leverage these for money at the original school I deposited at?
Edit: First I was deciding between Penn and GULC and deposited at GULC

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
Got in today as well. I sent in my deposit to Chicago after I got the WL e-mail, and thought my cycle was over. I didn't send any additional material, and wasn't planning on it. I figured if NU didn't want me, then I didn't want them. Now I'm confused, and a little bit of scholarship $$$ would probably make my decision much easier. Either way I'm pretty happy, as NU had been my top choice for a while. I will likely not attend NU over Chi unless I get some good $$$. Does anyone know of the people who get $$ after being waitlisted at NU?

Can those who got in share with us what they did to get off the WL (other than have amazing stats)? Do you guys think you were YPed which is why you were places on the WL in the first place?
And congrats!!!

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
I did nothing, and I think I was supposed to mail a letter in by May 22. I didn't bother withdrawing, as I was upset for being put on the WL in the first place, I pretty much said F-you to NU. I didn't think I was YP'ed, but looking at the other people who are on here that got accepted, I think that may have been the case, as we all have similar #'s 170+/3.7+.jewelta wrote:Can those who got in share with us what they did to get off the WL (other than have amazing stats)? I think NU said the WL is not ranked, and I honestly don't think this feels like a WL acceptance to me because I just received the WL letter 2 weeks ago, and the other 2 ppl who got in had pretty strong #'s.

Re: NORTHWESTERN LAW - WAITLIST CREW
Meh. With an LSAT 2-points below their 75th, and a GPA right at their 75th, I wouldn't call YP...etwake wrote:I did nothing, and I think I was supposed to mail a letter in by May 22.
