I think you'll be happy with this decision.

What was your LSAT score and your GPA? I'm applying there myself for Spring 2011.

What sort of status checker activity did you see prior to receiving your decision?

I was admitted sometime in January. My status checker never changed between the complete date and the admission e-mail. I'll be withdrawing from consideration this week so hopefully someone on the waitlist can benefit.

Was admitted last week via email, no $$$. My status checker just said 'complete' before and after I got the email it said admitted.

Admitted today via e-mail, lol. I know this is a tier 4 but I've heard good things about them. Can anyone confirm this?

Depends on what your expectations are. What are you expecting from it, in terms of career options?

I'm pretty sure you're not going to get an answer for this, since OP hasn't logged onto TLS in over 10 months.

I reside in Houston, TX and have heard very good things about South Texas. I even took the LSAT there. The school is located downtown with pretty good facilities. As for the school itself it seems to be pretty well regarded amongst lawyers here in Houston. There are several BIGLAW firms here in Houston, Vinson & Elkins, Baker Botts, Fulbright & Jaworski, etc, and, in a good economy, all hire from South Texas. In addition there are several energy giants, that hire lawyers out of South Texas. Don't let the Tier 4 status fool you, some students at UofH Law complain that South Texas graduates have better access to jobs then they do. They have very strong alumni here in Houston.

This sounds more reasonable. Texas already has some good law schools in UT, SMU, UofH and Baylor as the Big 4 and Texas Tech probably getting most of the scraps these schools leave behind.

South Texas is a Tier 4 anomaly.

If I were going to a school out of the top 100, STCL would be high on my list no doubt.

They are kind of like the peanut in a turd, as it were.

what makes stcl ttt is the class size. its 2nd to cooley and it has massive attrition rates. to me, the risk of falling below top 10% there is too great to justify going there. they are also pretty stingy with scholarships, according to lsn.
