"On hold" at Cardozo
Just received e-mail. 164/3.2
Obviously disappointed but a "relative small number" of applicants put on hold.

Oh, no...I fear a similar fate. I applied back in Nov, and still haven't heard anything! On hold is better than a rejection, though. Time to start sending more materials - and good luck!!!

And its also better then a waitlist. Don't give up hope. Send in some additional info so that they can see how interested you are. Although might want to hold up on a LOCI as you dont want to remove that option if you are eventually waitlisted. With your numbers though I think you will be ok.

Do you have any other decisions under your belt at this point, or was this the first one?uncle mike wrote:Thanks all.

when it comes to LOCI, is it best to send a printed letter to the law schools rather than responding to the email?

Re: "On hold" at Cardozo
Carbozo is a waste. And if you guys do get in, you will have to pay full freight. Remember, it the 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th ranked school in a large metro area. After Fordham there is a huge dropoff in NYC. BLS, Bozo, Seton Hall, Hofstra, Rutgers, St. Johns are all about the same. Don't buy the hype that Bozo is a school on the rise. It isn't. Fordham is far superior.
They are waiting for all the better students to commit to Fordham, Columbia, NYU and other schools before deciding to admit you. You guys are just the backup lemmings that they will plug in to the bottom of the class. You will not get scholarship money, most likely.
Did you see the article in today's law.com? Fordham is placed 40% in biglaw last year. BLS and Carbozo far, far lower. Carbozo is a TTT all the way. Don't listen to the slick presentations. There are many, many Cardozo grads without any hope of work and crippled with debt. If you don't believe me, talk to some recent grads in the bottom 75% of the class.

Like any other TTT, Carbozo grants only a few top status, the rest will struggle mightily. Be careful before you assume your the burden of three years of loans there. As you are waitlist candidates, you will be the real suckers.
Proceed with caution and be very afraid.

Re: "On hold" at Cardozo
The flyer they sent shows very compelling salary numbers. The concern is that the school doesn't specify what percentage of the 98% that report being employed reported their numbers. That said, though, I don't share your degree of alarm or your opening statement.Trollsniffer wrote:Carbozo is a waste. And if you guys do get in, you will have to pay full freight. This guy is a troll. He refers to Cardozo as Carbozo. If he wanted to say anything useful he would have been a little more respectful.

Some of them aren't that bad but I, personally, cannot take someone seriously who refers to a school as Carbozo...

I kind of think he was making a joke.geoanthem wrote:Some of them aren't that bad but I, personally, cannot take someone seriously who refers to a school as Carbozo...
...a bad one. But something along the lines of BLS B-L-O-W-S...get it? Carbozo. Bozo the clown. Get it? Har har.
Meanwhile, I'm still fucking waiting to hear from Cardozo and my patience with this whole process is wearing thin.
Happy weekend everyone.

Re: "On hold" at Cardozo
waitlisted with a 167/3.4 engineering gpa (yes i know hard majors give little to no boost)
sorta disappointed, not so much because cardozo waitlisted me, but because i now feel much less confident about fordham
