Re: University of Florida
I spent 4 UG years in Gainesville and I can tell you that it is not a "wasteland" it is a bona fide college-town. Secluded enough to focus entirely on academics. The town is small but filled with bars and places to "getchyo drink on" and its proximity to Jacsonville, Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta and even Miami make it a day trip away from anything you could want in a big city.

I think we are ok.invictus wrote:I haven't heard of a second deposit either...here's hoping such a thing doesn't exist.
After going back and reading all my acceptance info and emails, Im pretty sure there is no 2nd deposit. the email must have meant WL movement from other schools 2nd deposit would affect UF.

Yeah, I think Florida is a fine school and would be grateful to attend.GATORTIM wrote:I spent 4 UG years in Gainesville and I can tell you that it is not a "wasteland" it is a bona fide college-town. Re: University of Florida
anyone currently looking at a change on their status checker for this cycle? On Thursday mine went from "all documents received" to Under review by committie, any ideas about the length of wait after that step? It doesn't look like the first decisions came through until December last year.

I am retaking the lsat in december. I have a 163 so if I don't improve then yeah probably (or alabama) since I won't be getting into Indiana or UGA. I like the idea of graduating from a school that is tops in its market.isaiah6v8 wrote:That was Thurs. the same mine went under review. How are you feeling about your chances? If anyone has any questions regarding Gainesville or life at UF in general, it's a known fact that gators like to talk about themselves, so ask away

good luck on the retake, I am putting UF pretty high up for me personally. Lots of family in the area, and my wife went there as an undergrad. A good school and a nice place to live with my young family.lawhawk wrote:I am retaking the lsat in december. Just went for a Law School visit last week, i absolutely loved it. The facilities are not the best of any campus I visited, but there are a lot of things that made me think it was a good fit. I really enjoyed the folks I met.bettielocke wrote:If anyone has any questions regarding Gainesville or life at UF in general, it's a known fact that gators like to talk about themselves, so ask away

wow, you can get into two good schools, but you can't figure out how to be relevant to a thread titled, "Univerity of Florida"? Impressive.Every1SuxButMe wrote:In at UCLA & UT! Didn't apply to Florida...not ranked high enough. Check me out on LSN EVERY1SUXBUTME!

He/she is not worth your time; stop giving him/her all that much-needed attention.
3.84/168, born and raised in Miami and "Under review by committee" on 11/12/09 as well...any updates on when our batch of decisions have been historically released?
Good luck to all of you!

Re: University of Florida
looking at LSN, they seem to have the first set out in early December. I don't know that I will be in that early batch, if I get into any batch. If I do it is because they saw my work experience as a good indicator of growth since my terrible UGPA. Here's hoping! Good luck to you!tilghmab wrote:He/she is not worth your time; stop giving him/her all that much-needed attention.

Well, now I'm worried. My status changed to "Reviewed by committee; decision pending" today. Letter in transit would've sounded a lot better.
