Loyola Chicago c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
Apologies if this topic is already in existence or not allowed.
Anyone have any clue why Loyola Chicago doesn't appear to have released any decisions yet for this enrollment period? (Assumption based on Law School Numbers data, there should have been some decisions released by now)
The silence is absolutely killing me.

I submitted before the December LSAT scores came out. They held it until scores came out and then they completed it days after the December scores dropped. So I've heard nothing for almost a month and a half

I've been complete since 12/6. I did send an email asking when we'd expect to start hearing responses and was told the review process had started in late December and "can take three to six weeks" so I'm surprised they haven't started sending out any decisions.

I feel like there's a good chance of there being a wave this week. They have had to be reviewing apps for at least 4 weeks at this point

Nope. But spent a lot of time there and though I despise the cold, wouldn't mind living in the city.mmart207 wrote:Are you all from Chicago, by any chance?

I toured the other day, and the admissions office said their first decisions are coming out in a week or so.
....which, according to my student tour guide, would be near the same time as last year.

I'm from the burbs, I work in the loop. I want to do part time law school, and Loyola's weekend program just seems ideal.mmart207 wrote:Are you all from Chicago, by any chance?

You're right, must've had some wires crossed. My tour guides just all applied around the turn of the year and hear back in late January.tpeters wrote:DrSnapple wrote:I toured the other day, and the admissions office said their first decisions are coming out in a week or so.

Update: I did receive my acceptance today. Hopefully they sent out a big wave. Status checker has not been updated, but I got an email with congratulations and scholarship information. Finally. Haha.

I'd say if you're from Chicago and want to stay here it's a decent choice. I'd rank the Chicago schools as UChicago, Northwestern, Chicago-Kent, Loyola, DePaul, and John Marshall.DrSnapple wrote:Received acceptance and scholly by email today as well. Exciting!

I received my admission on Friday as well! Does anyone know if they negotiate scholarships? They offered me a decent amount but I have better offers from Kent, John Marshall, IU, UW-Madision and a few other ones

I also was accepted on Friday with Merit Scholarship but am hoping to receive more scholarship money. Please let me know if anyone negotiates and has an increase. I really like Loyola but it is literally almost 3 times as much as another school I was accepted too also with a scholarship.

Re: Loyola Chicago c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
I’ve done some research and it appears in the past they had a policy not to negotiate. However, they’re not going to take away your acceptance if you ask/attempt. There are some good articles/posts about how to negotiate a scholarship. Why not do your research and see if they will?Rmlogan24 wrote:I also was accepted on Friday with Merit Scholarship but am hoping to receive more scholarship money. Re: Loyola Chicago c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
Yeah it appears that this is the caseDoes it seem like they are giving out lower scholarship amounts than last year? Per LSN, last year the most they gave out was $108,000 (to a variety of applicants, usually from 158/3.7+ GPAs to 165/3.0+ GPAs). This year it looks like the maximum they are giving anyone is $96,000 total?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
