WUSTL c/o 2019 Profile (Will update with 2020 when available)
c/o 2019 Stats :
Number of Applications: 4,613
Newly Enrolled 1L's: 210
GPA 75th / Median / 25th percentiles: 3.80 / 3.67 / 3.18
LSAT 75th / Median / 25th percentiles: 169 / 168 / 161
The Interview (stolen from last years post, please let me know if this is no longer correct or needs updated)
The interview process is relatively new, and fairly straight-forward. You have the option to interview in person, over Skype, or over the phone. The interview is generally low-key and all of the adcomms are very friendly, and during the past application cycle, interviews are essentially an acceptance, with most applicants either getting an offer at the end of the interview or an allusion to such an offer. Here are a list of reported questions/topics that other students have fielded:
- If you are a splitter, be prepared to address the lower number.
- Why law school? Why WUSTL?
- Why did you choose your undergraduate institution?
- Why did you choose that major?
- Be prepared to discuss your personal statement and resume.
- Have you ever been to St. Louis?
- Have you ever lived outside of <your hometown>?
- How do you feel your second BA/master/professional degree compliments your first?
- What area of law interests you?

Potentially checking in. Haven't decided if I'm going to actually throw an app their way.

Checking in, did one of the early skype interviews and was very impressed. Mainly a safety/scholly negotiation app for me, but I could see myself there if I get the full + stipend that they're famous for. Above both 75ths so I should have a shot at it.

I know 2 people who were in the same boat as you, had a bunch of acceptances in the mid T14, but ended up at WUSTL because they loved the campus and the vibes they got when they visited. It's a pretty awesome school, highly recommend visiting if you get the chance.Slippin' Jimmy wrote:Checking in, did one of the early skype interviews and was very impressed. Checking in, my SO said she's never moving to Missouri, so I guess in a way, this is the biggest "reach school" for me

Checking in! Probably my most likely outcome given splitterness and debt aversion. Really impressed by the interview.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2021 Applicants ('17-'18 Cycle)
I'm a current 1L who went through the application process twice (ended up deciding to retake + took a year off for personal reasons) so if any of y'all have questions or need advice, feel free to PM me! I'm really happy about my choice and also turned down T14 acceptances, some with money, to come here.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2021 Applicants ('17-'18 Cycle)
Thought I posted in here before but apparently not. A generous scholly from WUSTL would be a pretty great outcome for me given my extreme splitterness. We shall see!
edit: Interviewed what feels like forever ago back in July and seemed to have gone well.
edit #2: just saw that I did post in here already lol I'm a total moron.

damn thanks for posting. I totally skipped over that email. Gonna send them a response and hope for a waiver as well.jjdude14 wrote:Just got a fee waiver by replying to a random email that they sent me, don't even have my lsat score yet!
How does applying before getting an LSAT work? What if you get a bad score that keeps you from admission and then you want to retake in december? Will they hold the decision if you ask them to?

Re: WUSTL c/o 2021 Applicants ('17-'18 Cycle)
I think it was pretty laid back and basic. It didn't very from the list of the questions in the OP. I got why law, why WUSTL, what area of law I'm interested in, and a question about a C&F issue on my app. Then asked what questions I had.AaronCarter wrote:GotLost wrote:Checking in. She was also really enthusiastic and hyped the school a lot.

Unsolicited fee waiver, wasn't there last week but checked today and it was waived

I applied on the first so that might have something to do with it.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2021 Applicants ('17-'18 Cycle)
Wasn't really considering applying because I need a school that will let me come back home to NYC and wasn't sure whether WUSTL will allow it... but I got a fee waiver code so I'll definitely research this some!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
