In through PT. Took the full 10 days. Is there any reason to not consider a provisional acceptance to be a "real" acceptance? Has anyone ever not gotten in after getting a provisional?

Nah provisional is just what they call it pre-scholarship.

Pretty sure they do so if you withdraw before they do the scholarship they can protect their yield

Any UR2s out there for non-PT RD? Or any speculation on decision at this point? The old threads have seem to have mixed thoughts.

I think I might be an UR2. Submitted app on 10/20

I am an ED app, submitted on 10/31, UR1 11/13, UR2 12/5. Based on 2015 and 2016 admissions, I am expecting a response by 12/15. Could be wrong, but that would be consistent with prior admits. I would expect you guys who aren't ED, but are RD, to hear around the same time, given that we all have similar submission and UR dates.

So for me if we count day one as the day I got the email my PT application was complete, they technically made the decision by the end of day ten (tracker said decision had been made but not what it was), but I was not informed of it until day eleven.

If you mean like the acceptance packet that will arrive maybe two weeks after your provisional acceptance. You'll get some things periodically throughout this cycle from them (most of it is just glossy sales documents but prior years they've also sent shirts)

Kind of a crap shoot. Last year I think generally people got more money from Michigan, but at both schools (more prevalent at UVA) significantly more people got low amounts or zero aid. Mich still probably came out on top, but honestly I think UVA was a wash with how many people got fat 0s

It seems Duke plays everything pretty even. The worst case I saw was an applicant I thought was equal to me got 30k less, which is a tiny differential when you consider in the UVA thread 173, 3.7X applicants were getting anywhere from $150,000 to 0. Most people are within 15k of everyone in their applicant range. There's good and bad there, and obviously if you can get lucky then M or V will be a better bet, but Duke is a relatively consistent known value which can help if you draw short straws.

It's also important to keep in mind that people who get zero aid are not very inclined to update their LSN with that fact.
