Waitlist LOCI Question

Post by Mikey947 » Tue Feb 14, 2017 10:46 pm

Is it weird to say that you're willing to pay sticker price on a LOCI? Would admissions not like that? I feel like deep down they might...

A better way to say that is "if accepted, I would attend."

I think that implies you'd come at sticker price!

I feel it would be weird to say without an acceptance or better at another similarly ranked school, or a significant offer at a lower ranked school. Without either, the adcom would probably respond with "we know..."

Don't say that - on some very rare occasions, people off the waitlist might get small scholarships. You don't want to close yourself off to that

sure. so try to negotiate once you get an offer and maybe you'll get something nominal. a lot of times the school throws something nominal anyway just to boost the percentage of students they give aid to.

Does anyone know what the typical guidelines for an LOCI should be? Not quite sure how to differentiate it from my "Why" essay that I sent with my original app.
