It might be a nice touch (assuming you have good handwriting ) but I'm not sure how much of an impact it'll makeshotgunheist wrote:While we are discussing some oddball waitlist strategies, I'm thinking about sending a quick handwritten note to the vice admissions dean of a waitlist I want to get off of about a month after my email LOCI. Not make or break if I get in but what do yall think? Too lame?

Don't know if it'll work but I'd give it a shot. Handwritten notes can go a long way.shotgunheist wrote:While we are discussing some oddball waitlist strategies, I'm thinking about sending a quick handwritten note to the vice admissions dean of a waitlist I want to get off of about a month after my email LOCI. I've basically deleted Penn from my mind for the past two months, but recently I started remembering that all is not entirely lost on the waitlist Might be a super small shot, but at least it's something.

Cornell, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown, UCLA, and now Vanderbilt. Those last three were supposed to be safeties. Still no acceptances. Rejection from Berkeley. This is unreal.

Adding WUSTL and Vandy to the list which brings me to a total of 6 waitlists out of 14 applications. Was not expecting this.

You sound like me. Same number of apps, same number of waitlists, same kind of confusion. Are you a high LSAT splitter by chance?jessmeesh wrote:Adding WUSTL and Vandy to the list which brings me to a total of 6 waitlists out of 14 applications. Was not expecting this.

Re: The Waitlist Purgatory
I do have three acceptances luckily, but the cycle definitely didn't shake out like I anticipated. I'm a 167/3.4. So not an extreme splitter. My SN is the same on LSN if you're curious.Nightwing wrote:You sound like me. Same number of apps, same number of waitlists, same kind of confusion. Re: The Waitlist Purgatory
I doubt it. I can't think of any reason as to why my recommendation writers wouldn't like me. Maybe they inadvertently said something negative, but I have no idea what it could be.Stylnator wrote:Do you think it could be your LORs?Nightwing wrote:Cornell, Duke, Northwestern, Georgetown, UCLA, and now Vanderbilt. Anyone know how many students Emory took off the wait-list last year?

Re: The Waitlist Purgatory
Michigan just waitlisted me. That puts me up to Duke, Cornell, Michigan, Northwestern, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, and UCLA with a rejection at Berkeley, UR3 at Chicago without an interview (so another WL/ding incoming), and no acceptances.
To say I'm underperforming my numbers is an understatement. This has simply been a catastrophe.

Status Report:
Held at Columbia since 2/9.
UR3 at Chicago today which doesn't seem good.
Michigan waitlisted me today at 1:06
Georgetown Special Prefer Waitlisted me at 1:12.
Lol I'm finally officially part of the waitlisted family!

This was a pretty rough week. Rejections at Harvard and Berkeley on the 13th and then, waitlisted at Columbia (15) and Michigan (Today).
Hope that talk about darkest before the dawn is true. Still waiting on UVA, NYU, Chicago, Stanford, and Yale (won't hold my breath on that last one).

Yeah, University of Washington, UCLA, and GULC. Those were the first schools I heard anything back from (and in that order) too so I started off pretty strong, but then Duke hit me with a WL on 2/11 and then Penn two weeks later, so it's been a wash since.Nightwing wrote:Have you been accepted anywhere?Instrumental wrote:This was a pretty rough week.
