Re: UCONN School of Law c/o 2020 (2016-2017)
Yeah. I got an email a few days ago from them telling me about their ED program to let me know "before we release our first round of decisions". So I guess that means the first round is coming within a few days. I interpreted that to imply that they are going to reject me and want to make sure UCONN isn't my first choice before doing so(in which case they'd take me ED). I've already done ED to another school so I can't do that(and wouldn't seeing as the program doesn't guarantee full scholly's). Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I'm expecting a rejection as a result of that email(even though my numbers are good enough to get in). Anyway, decisions should be coming next week, so to anyone waiting, you won't be waiting long(assuming you applied a while ago)!

I got the same email on Friday, my impression was that this early action is a new concept that they thought up after applications were released, to my knowledge they didn't have ED in the past. I guess it all depends on if everyone got the e-mail, it was part of the reason why I started this thread I thought it was a bit odd.

That does make me feel a bit better about it, maybe it is an email they sent all their applicants. I'm not sure if the program is new or not, but now that I re read the email it appears that it might be although it's unclear, "I am pleased to introduce our early action program". I don't remember if that was an option on the application or not. On the website it doesn't mention whether the program is new or not. We will find out soon enough.jrbuckler wrote:I got the same email on Friday, my impression was that this early action is a new concept that they thought up after applications were released, to my knowledge they didn't have ED in the past. It was definitely not available on the app. I don't think you have to worry about it.

I think they sent it to all applicants. I'm instate and over their 75ths and I got it. It definitely doesn't mean a rejection is coming. I was kind of annoyed when I got the e-mail, honestly. First of all, if it's binding, just call it Early Decision. Second of all, don't just create it in the middle of an admissions cycle.Ferrisjso wrote:Yeah. Well that's good to hear, I feel much better about this now seeing as it looks like everyone got it. I agree with you they should have called it what it is, for undergrad Early Action means something very different than Early Decision so I can totally see a few people getting confused by that. Also yeah the timing made no sense, what if people willing to ED to UCONN already ED'd somewhere else?snw2367 wrote:I think they sent it to all applicants. I have not heard anything back yet...... it seemed from the email about early action that they were going to start rolling out the first round rather soon. With that being said I just interviewed with Quinnipiac yesterday (I'm local), and the Dean told me that we probably won't hear any decisions there until after the holidays, hopefully UCONN won't string us along until after the 1st. I'm interested as well to see who applied early action, supposedly they are suppose to give you any answer within 14 days.

I almost applied to QU also(I'm an undergrad there). I'm hoping the UCONN decisions come this week(preferably in a couple of hours:) I know the school I ED'd to is giving some regular admissions decisions beforehand, so I hope the same is true with UCONN.jrbuckler wrote:Jp12345 wrote:Anyone hear back yet?

Wow some regular admission get decisions before ED? Way to keep the EDers in suspense. I too hope to get a decision soon, my status checker could use a break. So far no one has been brave enough to announce that they were ED.Ferrisjso wrote:I almost applied to QU also(I'm an undergrad there). I applied in October, I think my first date for "in review" was 10/31 but then changed to 11/17. I did end up applying ED, (I thought I had mentioned that earlier but I guess I didn't). I'm also non-traditional and applied for the pt evening program. So ED made sense in my case because UCONN was the best option locally.

I applied in October too, I guess I've got a decision coming soon! Wait, how did you apply ED in October if the program is a few days old?jrbuckler wrote:Ferrisjso wrote:Congrats!! When did you apply?jrbuckler wrote:Check your e-mails everyone! Just got my acceptance e-mail!!!!!!

I didn't, I applied regular admission in October, when the ED program email came out last week I signed it and sent it back in as of Monday they changed my application from regular to ED.Ferrisjso wrote:I applied in October too, I guess I've got a decision coming soon!
