With regards to the "Scholarship Notification Update" email today, does anyone know where a scholarship notification will appear on the applicant online status? I have, under the mailings section, a "Scholarship Notification" but I'm not sure whether that is the email sent today or an offer sent through the mail.

The scholarship delay really stinks. I was really excited to find out this week or next... bummer

I never got an email - I'm assuming this is a bad sign?

Idk that seems weird. It was a very general email saying that scholarship roll out was being delayed until January so I'm assuming it applies to everyone. Most kids get scholarships so if you're anywhere around the medians you should be getting something at least.rush4334 wrote:I never got an email - I'm assuming this is a bad sign?

Check your status checker to see if you have the "Scholarship Notification" in the mailings. I assumed it was a generic email for everyone. Possibly in your spam?rush4334 wrote:I never got an email - I'm assuming this is a bad sign?

Nothing in status tracker and nothing in spam. I applied ED but I figure my stats are good enough to get something...Earlskies wrote:Check your status checker to see if you have the "Scholarship Notification" in the mailings. It's probably because you're ED then. I wouldn't worry in the slightest.rush4334 wrote:Nothing in status tracker and nothing in spam. I'm not one for signs, but it did seem like the kind of e-mail that would be sent to everyone. I would guess they have ED apps on a different schedule, though.rush4334 wrote:Nothing in status tracker and nothing in spam. Question: are you aware of ED applicants receiving money in the past?

In my acceptance letter they said I would hear of scholarships by December 1st. And I have heard about others getting money in the past. I am trying not to read into it too much but it doesn't seem like a good sign.guybourdin wrote:I'm not one for signs, but it did seem like the kind of e-mail that would be sent to everyone. Then I would guess this one somehow got lost. They told everyone the same thing about Dec 1, and this e-mail was just an update. Also, you have nothing to worry about - you're locked in either way! If you know they give some money to ED applicants, then you can't worry too much imo.rush4334 wrote:In my acceptance letter they said I would hear of scholarships by December 1st. At this time our scholarship rollout has been slightly delayed, and our revised date to make scholarship awards is the beginning of January.

Any theories on why there is a delay? Anything to do with the increase in Dec. test takers?

My guess is that they are doing some switch ups in staffing the admin department (the e-mail was signed by the "interim director of admissions").JD_Kingfish wrote:Any theories on why there is a delay? Anything to do with the increase in Dec. test takers?

Got in today via phone call! Did undergrad at another Minnesota school and I love it there. Unless I get in with full tuition at William and Mary I'll probably go .

I just got a holiday card in the mail from admissions. I thought it was a festive touch.

Looks like the next wave of admits is today. Just got admitted via status checker.
Looking forward to visiting the campus sometime next year.
