Went and visited Georgetown yesterday. I know many may like this, but I wish the law school was closer to the UG camps. The UG campus is stunning

It is, but having two metro stops at the law campus as opposed to bussing it makes it all worthwhile.RParadela wrote:Went and visited Georgetown yesterday. I know many may like this, but I wish the law school was closer to the UG camps. The UG campus is stunning

yeah, the contrast between the two is striking. I did my undergrad there; I dreaded having to go to the law school for mock trial stuff.RParadela wrote:Went and visited Georgetown yesterday. I know many may like this, but I wish the law school was closer to the UG camps. The UG campus is stunning
but yeah, so true re: metro... having to cross the bridge to get the rosslyn metro from Georgetown is worse than being on the cusp of a not-so-visually-appealing NE D.C.

It's definitely a lot better than the UG metro situation, but getting to Union Station from GULC is kind of a pain in the butt haha I would say that there's only one metro for GULC (Judiciary Square)csetheredge wrote:It is, but having two metro stops at the law campus as opposed to bussing it makes it all worthwhile.RParadela wrote:Went and visited Georgetown yesterday. Not that this matters too much, given GULC's awesome fitness center, but it's weird that the law school is practically unassociated with the UG school...I mean that with your GULC id, you still have to pay to use the UG gym and facilities...kinda ridiculous

also I wouldn't pay, esp. because that gym is perpetually overcrowded & the library isn't worth the bus ride/cab fare.Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:Not that this matters too much, given GULC's awesome fitness center, but it's weird that the law school is practically unassociated with the UG school...I mean that with your GULC id, you still have to pay to use the UG gym and facilities...kinda ridiculous

When does scholarship info come out?
or
When is it ok to e-mail them about scholarships I've gotten at other schools?

Haha I don't mind walking but I hate those couple of intersections where when you cross the street, you're walking backwards (away from Union Station)...please tell me you know what I'm talking about hahahamm2368 wrote:what! how is it a pain?Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:It's definitely a lot better than the UG metro situation, but getting to Union Station from GULC is kind of a pain in the butt haha I would say that there's only one metro for GULC (Judiciary Square)csetheredge wrote:It is, but having two metro stops at the law campus as opposed to bussing it makes it all worthwhile.RParadela wrote:Went and visited Georgetown yesterday. So upset, sent in my app 12/09, 25<LSAT<50, and GPA way above 75. Sent in a why x, optional essay, but haven't heard back, even regarding an interview. Would love to go there so seeing no progress here is disappointing.

They're definitely waiting for the December LSAT takers to apply so that they can get a better sense of the applicant pool this cycle before admitting non-autoadmits. Don't worry, I'm on the same boatStopLawying wrote:So upset, sent in my app 12/09, 25<LSAT<50, and GPA way above 75. PS. Seems like high LSAT scores are way down this cycle, so there's that.

Is consensus that getting an alumni interview invite a good sign? Or does it mean they are on the fence?

Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Im super confused, pissed as well. I just got an email from the school saying:
"Thank you for participating in our interview process for Georgetown University Law Center. Although the record you present is a strong one, the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision.''
So, that's a wait list? Fuck... I am way above their 75th for LSAT, and median GPA. I even had a GREAT interview, went on for an hour, and they said I would make a great fit. Im absolutely livid. Someone please help me. Im freaking the fuck out.
Is this YP?

I definitely would. Scores and the number of applicants are down, they probably think you'll get better offers elsewhere.pleasesendhelp wrote:so i need to write a LOCI? damnitRubbishdump wrote:likelypleasesendhelp wrote:Im super confused, pissed as well. I just got an email from the school saying:

Hold or WL, I should still write a LOCI preemptively, right? I have no one else to help me in these situation as I was abroad for 5 years. So, nerve wracking. If there's anything I can do, I will do it in earnest.brinicolec wrote:That sounds like a hold, not a WL.mrgstephe wrote:Could be yield protect?pleasesendhelp wrote:Im super confused, pissed as well. If I were you, I'd head to the Spivey consulting thread and ask him/the others helping in that thread. They're pros. They probably have a better idea of what may have happened/what you may be able to do.pleasesendhelp wrote:Hold or WL, I should still write a LOCI preemptively, right?
