First time posting here.
Congrats to everyone who got in! I got my interview invitation today (group interview in NYC area). I'm an extreme reverse splitter so... just letting all other splitters like me that there's hope

I applied to the GLS program! I applied to it via mail 2 months ago, before I was accepted, so when I applied I didn't even know there was an online option for it yet. It's possible the online link isn't working properly right now, between the fact that GLS apps aren't considered until Feb, and they originally had to be submitted via mail.nerdylsat wrote:Has anyone applied to the Global Law Scholars program?
I did the ASW trick and got in so I assume I've been admitted but I couldn't apply to the GLS program because the website wouldn't let me so I don't know what to think anymore. :/
Also haven't heard anything from the school in like a month.

Sorry if this has been asked before, and I definitely know this is premature given that Georgetown isn't talking scholly much yet, but does anyone know if it's possible to negotiate at Georgetown with an offer from GW, if it's substantially more? I know Georgetown is notorious for being stingy (so I'm not assuming much from them), but I'm trying to keep the hope alive....

I think that's the general consensus. I'd expect the letter before the email.galeatus wrote:Just tried the ASW trick and it worked - is it safe to assume that this means admission and I will get the email/mail in the next few days?

+1 Was wondering how effective this might be. I'm also in at UVA, so I'm hoping those two offers will be enough to get something done.

Tried the ASW trick and it didn't work. Guess I gotta wait till next year. Congrats on those who got accepted!
Does Georgetown give dings via email? I don't know why they use snail mail as their main form of communicating acceptances. Most other schools seem to call or email.

Got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday so I imagine you all will be getting yours shortly as well! For what it's worth, I was able to request the ASW stuff on the 19th and that's the day my acceptance letter was dated.lawschool2017712 wrote:+1, alumni interviewed finished less than 7 days ago and was able to request email/password from ASW.dala77 wrote:That's me! Around how long did it take for you guys to hear from G-town? My app went complete two weeks ago and I'm worried that I didn't hear back from them about a potential interview.
Also, does the status checker ever update? All my boxes are blank, but app is complete.

Same @angelfan Was hoping to hear back this year. 2017 seems far away!! Do we know for sure that they are on break for that long? Also, I think that the ding is an email, not snail mail.angelfan5589 wrote:Tried the ASW trick and it didn't work. Guess I gotta wait till next year. Congrats on those who got accepted!

1. Not everyone interviews. I didn't and I was accepted.
2. No. It literally never changes from complete. I got my letter the first or second week of Dec. and it still says "Application Completed" with no dates on the status checker. It's not even worth looking at throughout the process, tbh.

It took them over a month to contact me for an interview.StopLawying wrote:Around how long did it take for you guys to hear from G-town? My app went complete two weeks ago and I'm worried that I didn't hear back from them about a potential interview.

Yeah, dings or (in my case) waitlists are emailed out.angelfan5589 wrote:Tried the ASW trick and it didn't work. Guess I gotta wait till next year. Congrats on those who got accepted!

I'm in the boonies so I'm sure my location had something to do with it. I'm not sure if everyone in NYC accepted interviewed. Idk if there's a way to find out either. I wouldn't worry too much yet. Just try to enjoy the holidays and think less about LS stuff. They're probably not in the office anyway so you won't be hearing anything until next year.StopLawying wrote:Thanks, where are you located? I applied ED and my 3 week time frame ends today. I haven't heard anything yet. For ED people did it take longer than 3 weeks to hear back? Maybe with the holidays my time was extended...

I feel like the thread should be renamed to "GULC c/o 2020 - Your status checker won't change and you don't need to be invited to an interview"

Okay so quick question about the ASW trick.
I tried it and i got an email, however, i can't actually log in with the information they sent me. When i tried the username and password sent to me in the email it just said it was invalid. Did i do it right?
