I'm highly considering it but the fact I've been "no decision made" since the middle of decemeber is not helping my chancesHouzy wrote:Any other gators out there?

That's brutal, hope you hear back soon! Do you remember how long you were under review before being held? I've been under review for a while and I'm starting to get worriedLasow wrote:I'm highly considering it but the fact I've been "no decision made" since the middle of decemeber is not helping my chancesHouzy wrote:Any other gators out there?

I completed my application on 1/27 and it went under review on 2/6. Anyone know if that's a good sign?
Also, I've seen people mention that their statuses say "initial review" or "comparative review." Mine just says "Application Under Review." Anyone know if that means anything?

I also completed mine on 1/27 and went under review 1/29 so hopefully we should hear back around the same time. On LSN it looks like the last acceptance from UF was two weeks ago, which I think might mean we are due for another round of decisions.jcburns wrote:I completed my application on 1/27 and it went under review on 2/6. Application under review is the only under review status this cycle. Your status will either change to a decision or "Review Complete- No Decision Made." No decision made is essentially the same as comparative review, according to other posts on this thread.

Thanks! Haha, yeah, it was a pleasant surprise considering how painfully slow the rest of my cycle is going

Applied in mid-December, and got the famous no decision made approximately two weeks after.
Still no evolution. I am pretty sure they were waiting for the December LSAT scores to come in. Hopefully I will get an answer soon.
I am a Gator, so if those of you who got accepted have any question, don't hesitate to message me. I would be glad to answer any question you might have about the University or Gainesville.

What is the difference between a status being "on hold" and "no decision made?"Leagles5161 wrote:1L at UF law here. It is the standard to be put on hold before an acceptance. I'm so disappointed, and honestly a little surprised - my numbers are above both 75ths (4.0, 165). I was really aiming for an acceptance and a good scholarship offer.

Re: UF c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Just checked and mine also says "Initial review complete- No decision made." Kind of surprised, but people on this thread have said they were at no decision made for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.jcburns wrote:As of yesterday my status changed to Initial Review Complete-No Decision Made. Re: UF c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Applied 2/11, just got an email letting me know I'm in with the Governor's Scholarship (100% tuition).
25 < GPA < 50, LSAT >>> 75, URM.
Was mostly looking at T20s, but this possibility of minimal debt and being in Florida is definitely tempting me.......

Did you hear back from UF after trying to negotiate? I emailed Dean Byrd on Monday asking for a bump to a 100% scholly. Anxiously awaiting a reply... I hope they don't just ignore me!lonola wrote:I'm trying to do exactly this, I'll post how it goes when they get back to me.jag13 wrote:+1 on the person who asked about negotiating. I got 75%, how hard is it to negotiate to the full 100? Or should I just wait it out and see if they bump me after not responding ?

Just out of curiosity, what makes you say we'll have decisions by April? Their website says decisions continue through late July.Lasow wrote:Same except 2 months. Nice, that's awesome! I'm in the same boat actually--- schools that show you the $$$ have a way of making you reconsider all of your optionsbrinicolec wrote:Applied 2/11, just got an email letting me know I'm in with the Governor's Scholarship (100% tuition).

How easy is it to find summer work in the area?lawman84 wrote:Current 3L at UF. Feel free to ask me anything you're curious about. Quoting this post will get you a quicker response because it sends me a notification.
I'll answer based on what I know.(although, I won't be any help with admissions or financial aid questions)

Re: UF c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
It depends on how you define area. If you mean Gainesville, it's not too bad 1L summer because you can take unpaid internships or research assistant positions. But due to the size of the town, it's pretty difficult to land a position for a 2L summer in Gainesville that you'd actually want.jcburns wrote:How easy is it to find summer work in the area?lawman84 wrote:Current 3L at UF. If you mean Florida more generally, you should be able to find something in Florida.

I got an email saying my status was no decision made and decisions would be out in "early spring." Gotcha. Thank you for sharing! I didn't get an email when my status changed. I've been trying to be patient, but I'm failing miserably.Lasow wrote:I got an email saying my status was no decision made and decisions would be out in "early spring."
