Do y'all know how generous Cornell is with full tuition scholarships? And if they are, what the process is to get one?

Has anyone completed the interview yet? I'm a little nervous about the online format and am not sure what to expect.

you can practice before you do it (assuming the format is the same as last year). just go to practice mode to see what it'd be like, you don't have to continue to the real thing afterward (assuming it's the same format).SilverSurfer2020 wrote:Has anyone completed the interview yet? Can we get a poll q that asks whether or not you submitted a diversity statement with your app?

My interview was requested 11/3, I did it on 11/5, and my status checker now says interview requested 11/7. Must've updated late last night (RD)

Well, just submitted my app. Decided I might as well since it was the only T14 (other than Yale) that I hadn't applied to yet

Just looked up Cornell's ABA disclosure. Not a single full tuition scholarship.

True but it could be $1,000 off. That is the case with W&M law, they can't give the full $41k so they top it off at $40k. Effectively no difference there though.SweetTort wrote:Just looked up Cornell's ABA disclosure. Not a single full tuition scholarship.
This could also be so that no one can figure out how many students got a full ride even though it is effectively a full ride.

I'm going to the Boston LSAC forum on Friday, gonna ask Cornell about fee waivers...kinda awkward convo I guess but I've got Xmas presents to buy, not a lot of money to go around haha. Been digging a bit more into the Cornell jobs numbers- the Biglaw numbers look consistently solid, but it seems like there was a bit of a dropoff in FedClerk a couple years ago, wonder what that's about...still, looks like a lot of positive reports about OCI from their last couple OCI threads here. That's nice to see.

the Charles Evans Hughes scholar gets full tuition scholly, so at least 1 person does get full tuition. but I do think Cornell gives out 150K pretty often to those above the 75ths.taxman14 wrote:True but it could be $1,000 off. Re: Cornell c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Well, first, there's more than one "Charles Evan Hughes Scholar." It's just the name of the full tuition scholarships, which I believe they started giving out either one or two cycles ago. Before then, maximum scholarship was about 5K/year shy of full tuition. They definitely have given out multiple full tuition scholarships in recent years, so if the 509 doesn't show them it's because either (1) nobody ever accepted them (unlikely) or (2) the person filling out the 509 has been lumping "full-tuition" in with "half to full tuition" for some unknown reason or because they just don't care (more likely).proteinshake wrote:the Charles Evans Hughes scholar gets full tuition scholly, so at least 1 person does get full tuition. but I do think Cornell gives out 150K pretty often to those above the 75ths.taxman14 wrote:True but it could be $1,000 off. Yowzer. Just had my interview, and don't think it went all that fantastically. I'd say 4-5 of of my 7 responses got cut off by the timer, which felt a little awkward. Hopefully this won't get me auto-dinged, but who the heck knows...

Also found the format to be extremely awkward- hopefully they don't weigh it too muchAquinas wrote:Yowzer. Just had my interview, and don't think it went all that fantastically. looks like the new dean has really changed some stuff. last cycle, the interview only had 3 questions. but don't worry if you got cut off, it happens to a lot of people and they still get in.Why??? wrote:Also found the format to be extremely awkward- hopefully they don't weigh it too muchAquinas wrote:Yowzer. Re: Cornell c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Do you guys know if date changes on the status checker mean anything? I believe mine went complete/ready for review in late September, but when I checked recently the date had switched to 10/17. But I had thought the consensus Cornell didn't change anything on the status checker until the interview request (which I have not received).
