FWIW, I think most of us that have sent in a negotiation request are getting the same type of response back. They'll hold on to your letter/email and add it to your file. If you have applied for the need based aid, they'll confirm that they received that application. If you haven't, they'll tell you to apply. Looking at last years thread, they did the same thing then too.

I was thinking that but their medians actually raised pretty significantly this year. I think the reason for the drop must be something else. Maybe reduced employment outcomes or something? I'm completely speculating because I actually am not sure how heavily the various factors are rated.

USNWR doesn't care about employment outcomes - Mostly input to the school (GPA/LSAT) and things like 'quality' of education - as much as metrics like expenditures/student can show you. I'd not be surprised to see BU jump around inside the 20/25 range each year. Don't know what they would do to move up or down too much.

That's so odd considering their GPA/LSAT increase. I agree though - they will probably move around every year. Looking back that seems to be how it's always been.
