This! My parents did not even realize I was admitted into a T10 school until I told them. The vast majority of people do not know/care about the rankings. Columbia is still going to have fantastic job placement and outcomes in general. These rankings got you trippinAnon.y.mousse. wrote:because of a one place difference in the rankings? that's silly. you realize that most people outside of TLS have absolutely no idea what the current rankings are/care right? do you think big law employers suddenly think less of Columbia now?2017JDtobe wrote:Thanks everyone, this has been helpful. If you care about prestige that much, I am also pretty sure that Columbia's lay prestige blows Chicago's away.

US Newsrankings are for school publicity and for fooling the uneducated masses who don't know anything about law admissions, legal hiring or law practice. If you think this is important after being on this website, you aren't getting it.2017JDtobe wrote:Thanks everyone, this has been helpful. What will you do if they swap places next year when you are in school? Regret your choice? Try to transfer?

You realize Harvard dropped as well. Maybe focus on Y or S so you can be assured of prestige.Anon.y.mousse. wrote:I hope you're trolling.2017JDtobe wrote:Well, Plan A from either Columbia or Chicago is to transfer to HYS (if I don't get in this cycle). "Timing of Award Letters: We start to send award letters in late March/early April, and continue on a rolling basis throughout the admission season. Please note that an admitted student’s file can only be reviewed once all required application materials are submitted to our office."

Has any interviewee been rejected? It's been almost a month for me and I know some people waited longer, but most of them interviewed in late 2016 or early Jan. Most recent interviewees seem to have gotten in rather quickly...
