For those who still haven't heard, thoughts about whether there is hope? I am now worried after hearing there was a WL wave yesterday that they are gauging WL room rather that acceptance room.

Would anyone mind posting their waitlist email? Mine was exceptionally upbeat and positive. It sounded better than a lot of the admissions letters I've received
But I'm not an idiot, so keeping my hopes in check.

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Dear X,
We have completed review of your application for fall 2017 admission to University of Virginia School of Law.
Since past normally is prologue, we will review thousands of applications this admissions cycle, and have seen/will see incredibly strong candidates in our applicant pool throughout. You certainly presented us with very strong credentials, and we commend you for your extraordinary accomplishments. As we try to manage our enrollment and avoid bringing in a class that is too large, we are proceeding cautiously and are inviting you - along with a number of other outstanding candidates - to be on our waitlist.
I want to state explicitly, this is not a soft-rejection. Please know we consider the waitlist an integral part of our admissions process. We expect to make a number of offers of admission to wait-listed candidates during May, June, and July. We believe that you would excel at Virginia Law and we hope to be able to offer you admission. We will do our best to have a final decision for you as soon as possible.
If you wish to supplement your application with additional information at any point, please feel free to do so. And please note that we do not rank our waitlist. When we are able to make offers of admission to wait-listed candidates, we will review the entire list.
We thank you for your patience throughout this process.
Cordel Faulk
Assistant Dean and Chief Admissions Officer

Hmm, I sort of feel like an idiot for thinking I was special. But that WL email was FAR better than the one I received from Cornell.

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Ended up deciding on the University of Washington with a scholarship. I wanted to be in the PNW long-term anyways so it just ultimately wasn't worth it to me to move across the country and then attempt to come back. Certainly was tempting, though.govlife wrote:Thanks! Just withdrew, but sadly had no money to throw back into the pot. Good luck, all!

Would like to withdraw from waitlist, do I send an email to the regular admissions office or do I reply to the waitlist email?

Much gratitude and appreciation towards active withdrawers. You're all wonderfully selfless people.

Withdrawing and putting money back. I'm actually a little heart broken about it
because I got my hopes up SUPER high for this school and fell COMPLETELY in love/head over heels for it on paper. But when I visited for ASW, it just wasn't a fit
I really hope someone else who is waiting and would love it gets some/all the scholly money I'm freeing up and has a blast at UVA
