Does your status change even if you don't get a scholarship? Mine still says 'inquiry denied' or whatever. I also haven't gotten an email.

Yeah I didn't get one either. Also did not apply for loans, but figured there would be something on there telling me I was awarded 0 merit aid instead of just no data at all.

I didn't apply for loans/need-based either, but I still got the email informing me that my award had been posted. I had previously gotten award notification via my acceptance packet.laqueredup wrote:addie1412 wrote:I think cause we didn't apply for financial aidamberb94 wrote:I didn't get one...weird.mrgstephe wrote:I got one saying finaid had been posted on SISaddie1412 wrote:Did anyone actually get an email?

Got the e-mail and checked. I saw I got no scholarships, just loans... Is that normal?

I mean that's technically 'normal'. only 48% of the incoming class receives merit aid, so by technicality that is 'normal' i guesslauren22 wrote:lauren22 wrote:Got the e-mail and checked. I saw I got no scholarships, just loans... Is that normal?

Can someone who got $0 tell me what it looks like? I applied for Finaid (I thought I did, anyways) and when I log in and click 'view financial aid' I still see 'Inquiry access denied.' I also didn't get an email. If you get $0, does it at least show loans?
I'm worried that I somehow actually didn't apply for financial aid, even though I sent in my FAFSA.

Yeah, if you filled out FAFSA it should show loans. Just wait a bit and it'll update.erwuxvcm wrote:Can someone who got $0 tell me what it looks like? Same here, except I don't get "Inquiry access denied," it just says that there's no information found. Not sure what's up, but I guess I'll shoot them an email.erwuxvcm wrote:Can someone who got $0 tell me what it looks like? I see 'award access not available" when I click 'accept/decline awards' and 'inquiry access denied' when I click 'view financial aid.' Is yours different from that?20172017 wrote:Same here, except I don't get "Inquiry access denied," it just says that there's no information found. Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I received a 75% scholarship with LSAT >75 and GPA >25 non URM, which was much higher than what mylsn predicted. This is pure speculation but I think the interview played a huge role. When my interviewer asked what UVA should know about me (the final elevator pitch question) I made a genuine appeal for "why UVA" while still being funny/not too intense. My interviewer said it was a "very good answer" and we seemed to get along very well. Obviously my stats helped, but this scholarship far exceeds anything I've received at other schools.CenterFringe wrote:I guess no financial aid from UVA. I'm pretty surprised, all things considered. I hope I didn't screw something up. I was accepted back in October with good numbers, and I thought I saw people getting close to full ride with my numbers on LSN. Any idea what gives?
Maybe you can appeal and ask for another interview? It's a great medium to come off as down to earth and someone they would like to have at the school. Otherwise another loci maybe? Mention something more than just the clinics. Admissions people like to hear about the unique things like softball and beers on the quad. Also, the interviewer seemed impressed with some of the things I've done in my current position so if you have something like that, it could be helpful.

I'm gonna echo this. I got a 75% scholarship with dead median numbers, non URM. My Why UVA and talk with admissions had to have played a huge factor in the scholly I got. Seems like UVA is really looking for people who want UVA this year.Finickywalrus wrote:I received a 75% scholarship with LSAT >75 and GPA >25 non URM, which was much higher than what mylsn predicted. Yeah mine is different. I get the same message (no info found) when I click either of those options.erwuxvcm wrote:I see 'award access not available" when I click 'accept/decline awards' and 'inquiry access denied' when I click 'view financial aid.' Btw, for people who didn't get an email, I didn't realize I had gotten it because they sent it to my UVA email. May be worth checking.

Kept checking back whenever I see a new reply in this post....
Are those who's applications are still pending still here?
Is UVA not giving out any merit-aid anymore late this cycle, reading from all these disappointed replies. If that's the case, I guess I am done waiting for a decision because I won't be able to afford it anyway.....

At least in my experience, the loans are federal loans. The first 20ish are Federal Direct Unsubsidized and the rest is Grad Plus.pipipipi wrote:Kept checking back whenever I see a new reply in this post....

Are these loans people are receiving and talking about different from federal loans or other student loans?

Does anyone know if we're supposed to/allowed to attend the Libel Show during ASW?

Is anyone else here still waiting for a decision? I applied in early January and had been planning to visit campus at the end of this month...but I still haven't received an admissions decision. I don't want to keep my plans to head to Charlottesville if I'm not going to get accepted :/
