Bravo! that last sentence got my hopes upCatsinspace wrote:MVPS_annora wrote:Took one for the team bc I'm self-employed (ie I can procrastinate as much as I please ) and stalked last year's thread for info on the email..looks like the same one was sent out to people around Feb 11th, then it seems a week later there was a wave of admits- both people that did and didnt get the email but I actually found more admits that didnt get it.
Not really helpful in any way, but I think it really is just a generic "be patient" email

Didn't get the email, not in status checker, but just moved to UR 3? Was UR2 as of 1/17. Intrigued to see what goes down next week!

Ugh. Got the email (later batch of emails) but still UR2 1/17. Was hoping to book an emergency flight to NYC for Asw next week.dwall1121 wrote:Didn't get the email, not in status checker, but just moved to UR 3? Was UR2 as of 1/17. Intrigued to see what goes down next week!

I think people who didn't get it are going to get decisions next week, imo.

Not really relevant to the current discussion of this email (fyi I did not get one nor do I have an update on my status checker for the review of my app or the e-mail) but is anyone else weirded out by the fact that they could definitely pick Nnenne Okorafor, '15 out of a crowd in a heartbeat thanks to this status checker page???

I'd be optimistic. I've seen mostly UR3 --> admit

Is anyone still at UR in October or around then and without email/status checker change?

Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I'm in a similar boat. I applied Early Decision, was pushed into the regular decision pool and haven't been updated since that updated back on 11/21. I didn't get the e-mail, nor does my status checker suggest one is en route. NYU was kind of a stretch for me from the beginning, so I may very well end up waitlisted (been waitlisted to 5 top 14 schools - yeesh) or dinged - not that that means the same for you!! If it helps, for reference, I applied with a 168 LSAT and 3.5 Undergrad GPA.mm2368 wrote:Is anyone still at UR in October or around then and without email/status checker change?

For normal NYU scholly, is it negotiable? Do you have to have offers from CLS or Chicago? Or big scholly from other T14 schools?

Yes it's negotiable, based on my creeping. Not sure about which school they care about though.LenaFarrer wrote:For normal NYU scholly, is it negotiable? Do you have to have offers from CLS or Chicago? Or big scholly from other T14 schools?

is anyone else unable to login to the financial aid website/portal thing? I was able to fill out the application just fine, but now my login credentials aren't working, and it won't let me change my password.

Well, only 38% of NYU students are receiving scholarships currently so.... Pretty damn stingycall-me-bubbles wrote:Does NYU generally lean more towards being stingy (like Georgetown) or generous (like Cornell) with normal/non-named scholarships and aid?
