How would/should you start a letter of withdrawal?

Post by kattakakka » Wed Jul 20, 2016 11:22 am

Do I start with praise of the law school or do I go straight to the fact?

Also, would it help if I mention that I will reapply next cycle because I got a higher LSAT score?

Dear [Name of Admissions Dean/Contact],

I am writing to withdraw my application from the [Name of Law School]. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that was presented to me by the [Name of Law School] admissions and financial aid staff but at this time, I have chosen to take the time to improve my application and apply next cycle.

Thank you for the consideration,

Don't stress about it too much.

There's no need to be overly complimentary. Get straight to the point. They won't take offense, it's routine for them.
