Gordon Wood's Creation of the American Republic is excellent. It's starting to age a bit, but it's still a must-read in my book.Keilz wrote:What are some good biopics or books about the creation of America that I can read?

The elusive republic by Drew McCoy is pretty good. Not an easy read, but it's well worth it if you're interested in the conflicts between Jefferson and Hamilton. Fair warning: It's pretty heavy on political economy, which was awesome for me but isn't for everyone.Keilz wrote:What are some good biopics or books about the creation of America that I can read?

Political economy was an awesome class. And really easy, because I had already taken advanced economics by the time I took it. I do try and remember the key concepts that they pounded into my head for years and still struggle to rememberairwrecka wrote:omg I remember learning about political economy in a class and I feel like it was a key concept to said class but now that you bring it up I remember nothingBob loblaw law blog wrote:political economyI haven't been out of undergrad that long! how am I already forgetting everything?!
