Arriving at the point in my life where I'd be fine if the schools that haven't gotten back to me yet just go ahead and ding me so I can move on and start negotiating/apartment scoping/etc. Getting tired of being in limbo on the 0.01% chance somewhere surprises me.

Idk anything about Tiffany beyond being a Trump. So I can't hate. She do anything especially objectionable?
Not quite there yet, but now that I've gotten a couple acceptances, I'm not stressing about any future dings.Sarastro wrote:Arriving at the point in my life where I'd be fine if the schools that haven't gotten back to me yet just go ahead and ding me so I can move on and start negotiating/apartment scoping/etc. Getting tired of being in limbo on the 0.01% chance somewhere surprises me.

Just got into Columbia, but with no Butler/Hamilton offer, so it feels like a loss anyway (I thought I had the numbers, guess I got my hopes up). Please feel free to tell me how crazy I am for being disappointed about this, its what I need to hear.

I really hope she doesn't take any spot that I could legitimately take at NYU.

imagine if you befriended her at law school and then it's time to meet her family...I don't think with a clear conscience shake the President's hand. Unless I was meeting with him as a member of the government.

These WL are brutal. It sucks having to write essays and letters when you know, no matter what, it is unlikely you'll be taken off the waitlist.
I read off some other thread that Columbia takes only 3-5% off the waitlist. Like that's crazy.

Not sure that I hate that or that it's that surprising tbh. The idea that anyone outside of papa T is anything but a limo liberal in that family is laughable

I keep seeing things praising lawyers and talking in a positive light about law school. Wonder if applicants will go up next year

Re: TLS c/o 2020 Applicants (aging poll)
i noticed that Berk has a median LSAT of just 166, much lower than other schools nearby in ranking. it's 25% lsat is only 163. it seems clearly Berk could improve its lsat numbers and thus its ranking but chooses not to. this is very much unlike the very numbers-driven process at other t14. why then B doesn't try to improve ranking by increasing its lsat median?
another school in t14 where it's true to a slightly lesser extent is Stan, which has lsat median of 171, lower than HY. it's 25% lsat is a low 168. why then Stan doesn't do it too? do Berk and Stan not want to improve their ranking through lsat medians?
ps: leaving yale out of this issue because even though i think they could improve their lsat median further if they want to, they have already highest lsat median of 173 and no incentive to improve ranking as they are 1.

They go for the GPA instead. Idk why, but that's what they do lolappind wrote:i noticed that Berk has a median LSAT of just 166, much lower than other schools nearby in ranking. it's 25% lsat is only 163. it seems clearly Berk could improve its lsat numbers and thus its ranking but chooses not to. this is very much unlike the very numbers-driven process at other t14. why then B doesn't try to improve ranking by increasing its lsat median?

Re: TLS c/o 2020 Applicants (aging poll)
they aren't really "going for" the gpa. their median gpa is merely not abnormally low. Berk c/o 2019 has median gpa of 3.79. it's lower than the schools ranked right above it by a good 0.11. 4 schools ranked below berk are MVDN. all 4 have higher median LSAT >= 2 points. out of these 4, two even have higher median GPA with the other two's median gpa quite close to Berk. so it's not like Berk made up for its loss in median LSAT through GPA, when 2 schools below it have both higher median GPA and LSAT.brinicolec wrote:They go for the GPA instead. this same reasoning applies to Stan also to a lesser extent.

Not really sure how something related to email is childish? Some people receive (non-law school related) email that needs to be immediately checked. I have work and person email on my phone, I check each notification because they could be work, I dont see how that's childishsomedeadman wrote:That sounds childish lmaoTexasENG wrote:How is this even possible? Re: TLS c/o 2020 Applicants (aging poll)
I hate getting work emails on my phone over LTE with an asap turn around but the attachment is unusable on phone so I have to just sit there waiting for it to come to my computer whenever it wantsTexasENG wrote:I get 75+ work emails a day (except weekends usually more manageable 20 or so a day). Most emails expect a pretty quick response so I have to be on top of it. I get both notifications on my watch since work emails hit my phone prior to the computer since our network sucks.Dr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:Not really sure how something related to email is childish?
