I'll probably ride this one out. At least until mid-summer or so. Helps that I'm currently expecting to be in the same city anyway.

Checking in. Chicago seems to have a crazy wait list, students get pulled off of it as late as September.

Doesn't law school start by then? lol. Do those students just drop everything at their current law school and move to chicago?jalapenocheeseburger wrote:Checking in. Chicago seems to have a crazy wait list, students get pulled off of it as late as September.

A couple of us are going to Northwestern, which makes this move a little easier (though not that easy, given where Hyde Park is). Otherwise, I'm sure a few kids move across the country every year. It's certainly not easy.Another1 wrote:Doesn't law school start by then? lol. I'm assuming we will get the waitlist form this week or next week to gauge whether we want to stay on it. Then they will move from there if the need exists.Nlawsing wrote:Do you know when we can expect movement?

Other than being a decent human being to people who would actually kill to go to a school you're blasé about? I guess you can be that guy that causes someone else to suffer another couple of weeks. Hope no one does the same to you!pdevastey wrote:is there a benefit to withdrawing applications? might be wrong post to ask this i suppose

What I just said. Why stay on a waitlist to a school you wouldn't attend, other than to be a douche? That is the point. The point is to not be a douche.pdevastey wrote:I meant I have received no response yet haha I have seen alot of people withdrawing...what is the point?genericwit wrote:Other than being a decent human being to people who would actually kill to go to a school you're blasé about? I like to consider it garnering "good waitlist karma." I withdrew from all my other waitlists so that the Waitlist Gods may smile down on me.genericwit wrote:What I just said. Re: University of Chicago Waitlist c/o 2019
I was going to withdraw from Texas the day they accepted me. I hope that didn't screw my waitlist karma. But I was truly considering going for a long time, so I hope I'm not karmatically penalized for declining the offer. I did promptly decline most my other offers of admissions/waitlists though.James.K.Polk wrote:I like to consider it garnering "good waitlist karma." My status checker changed, but I got the email telling me I was in before I checked it. My stats are LSAT<25th, GPA >75th... so reverse splitter.Applesauce11 wrote:Congrats! Do you mind sharing your stats and whether or not your status checker changed?captainamerica wrote:In today hope exists

Has anyone got an email confirming their intent to stay on the WL (besides their initial one)?

Re: University of Chicago Waitlist c/o 2019
After I got the initial waitlist email I sent in an LOCI, and then they sent me an email that said thanks. There wasn't anything formal that they sent though- were we supposed to fill out a form or something saying we wanted to stay on the list?James.K.Polk wrote:What! That's what their website suggests, but maybe it won't be for a while.Applesauce11 wrote:After I got the initial waitlist email I sent in an LOCI, and then they sent me an email that said thanks.
