Held at Columbia c/o 2019

Post by mathis1490 » Thu Apr 07, 2016 5:20 pm

We wish to inform you that, after careful consideration, your application has been placed
in our "Hold" category, which means that your application is still under active consideration by
the Admissions Committee.

To provide a context for your present status, we anticipate that, altogether, almost 6,000
candidates will apply during this admissions season for the approximately 365 places. This
year's applicant pool, in keeping with recent years, promises to be among the largest and most
highly qualified in our history. Therefore, your current standing represents a testament to your
unique strengths and potential fit with Columbia Law School.

While we cannot speculate as to the final outcome of your candidacy, we wish to inform
you that yours is one of a select group of applicants placed on Hold and that you will be given
every possible consideration as the season continues. Consistent with our admissions protocol,
some applicants may ultimately be offered admission, some will be placed on Reserve, and
others will be informed that their applications for admission have been denied.
In the interim, if you wish to submit a letter of continued interest, kindly do so by March
28, 2016. However, if during this time you decide that you no longer wish to be considered for
admission to Columbia Law School, kindly notify us by contacting Xxxxx Xxxxx at
xxxxxxx@law.columbia.edu. Please be advised that you will receive a decision from the
Committee no later than April 25, 2016.

Thank you again for your patience. We look forward to getting in touch with you as soon
as the Committee has rendered a decision.

i want to be mad at Columbia for making us wait so long, but at least they explicitly warned us, unlike NYU. It doesn't even really matter for my cycle anymore but still - show us some love, New York.

Just curious - where does it say that there was a deadline for the LOCI? I was planning on visiting Columbia soon and then submitting my LOCI...

Does the school send out any confirmation email after we submit the online Reserve Response Form? Much appreciated!

This is the Held applicants thread - none of us have got decisions from CLS yet, so (I assume) nobody here knows. Sorry!

Oh sorry guys that was supposed to say 'reporting in'.

I haven't been accepted. Still waiting like the rest of you.

Plz don't crucify me, was an iPhone accident

Edit: I cringed so hard when I saw I had been quoted 3 times. On the bright side, my mail came... No ding letter

I forgive you because I was refreshing my email like "oh my God, I haven't gotten an email and it's going to be a huge wave, and then I'll get home tonight to a rejection letter in my mailbox..."

So at least I can relax a little now hahaha

Talk about the most misleading post ever, I was waiting for the wave to start but thought maybe you'd be the only one they accepted lol. I think February 30, 2019, remains the most likely date we find out.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
