I'm super excited, Howard is my first choice

Housing is a concern of mine as well. Especially since I'm from the south and used to cheap housing.cdc624 wrote:Have you all started thinking about housing? That's my biggest worry right now, I would prefer a roommate but have no clue how I would go about finding one
How was the open house? I've been to the main campus but never to the law school campus.nopenottoday wrote:I will be attending! It wasn't my first choice, but I received nearly full tuition in scholarship money so I decided to go. Plus, I fell in love with the school at the Open house

For me it was their scholarship offer, their legacy, their strong alumni network in my hometown, and their OCI, median salary, and job prospects.alohalaw wrote:I was wondering when/if this thread would pop up. I attended the open house, but I am still considering other options. What sold you all aside from any scholarships?
For me the placement statistics make this a very good option.
Yeah I would have to agree with everything lightofurlife said. I just feel like Howard would but me in the best position to accomplish my goals. Additionally lightofurlife, feel free to message me, allies would be nice in this time of finding housing!alohalaw wrote:I was wondering when/if this thread would pop up. I guess both. You're already a part of the HU alumni which is something they boast about. I'm just wondering in considering law schools what are the important factors that are making you consider attending Howard Law.lawhopesdreams wrote:AsAs far as jobs? I will say, I love being an Alum of Howard. My factors are jobs, COA, and the city that the Law School feeds into.alohalaw wrote:I guess both. A friend of mine went to howard for undergrad then started at a t14 for law school then transferred back to Howard Law because they didn't like the competitive environment. He said it was way too cut throat like people didn't even talk to each other but at howard everyone is a big family that helps each other out.lawhopesdreams wrote:Hey guys, I'm thinking about going to HU for law, I went there for undergrad, so I'm really having a hard time deciding to have a new experience or head back to DC.

Hi! Congrats on your acceptance.dcshawd wrote:hey everyone!!
I was accepted last week. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about an admitted students day? or an open house?
I think everyone over 150 lsat and 3.0 gpa got some scholarship, the amount varies though. Check LSN.D87 wrote:I am very excited to say that I was accepted to Howard Law School also. I was however disappointed to find out that I had not received a scholarship. I just sent a scholarship reconsideration email and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Has any received a scholarship and if so do you mind stating what your GPA and LSAT was? Also has anyone asked for a scholarship increase and received one? Thx in advance. I am also definitely looking for housing. Is there a roommate list?
It did. Thank you very much. I got a 149 LSAT, I am awful at standardized tests, and definitely have a high gpa. So I am right there on the border, so hopefully they will reconsider and give me something. I will send a request to their Facebook page.lightofurlife wrote:Hi! From what I've heard Howard is pretty difficult to negotiate with, I'm sending a negotiation letter as well. I'll keep you updated on how it goes!
And they do a class Facebook and roomate list where most people find their roomates.
Hope that helped!
There is a seperate google form thingy for them, the one online is currently not up to date though, I'm assuming they'll update the donor list as well as the application for the donor scholarships sometime this spring.D87 wrote:It did. Also does anyone know how their donor scholarships work? I was thinking of also applying for those.
