Haven't seen one either. Applied early-mid January, accepted a week ago. Received packet with scholarship info yesterday.racb wrote:Didn't see a thread started yet for UTK. Admitted back in November. Anyone else?
With their offer, UTK is looking pretty nice

Scholarship is making it sound really good. Knoxville wouldn't be a bad place to be, either.GApeach1 wrote:Haven't seen one either. Applied early-mid January, accepted a week ago. Application went under review on Jan 25. Any of you admitted people want to share stats?

I'm right under the median on both. Makes me nervous.splitterfromhell wrote:LSAT comfortably above 75th percentile. GPA comfortably below 25th percentile.HP15 wrote:Application went under review on Jan 25. Any of you admitted people want to share stats?

Median GPA, 75th percentile LSAT. If you're at the median, I wouldn't worry too much.HP15 wrote:Application went under review on Jan 25. Any of you admitted people want to share stats?

I received my acceptance letter last week.
I'm a reverse splitter with LSAT below the median and GPA much higher than the 75th percentile.

I applied in early November and my status checker went to "Review" a little less than a week later. I received my acceptance letter January 12.HP15 wrote:When did you apply/go complete?Lbeth91 wrote:I received my acceptance letter last week.![]()

Yes, the UTK COL site was down earlier but is back up.
I have been accepted a received in-state tuition plus 5K per year in scholarship even though I am OOS. It's a good deal but I have even better from comparable schools and really hope to negotiate for a bit more so I can happily attend UTK. I want to go, but was really hoping to get offered a GRA position of some kind with my offer. We shall see, good luck to all in the waiting game!

From my experience, UTK does not negotiate scholarships. Last year I was accepted with $10,000/year and retook the LSAT, brought my score up to a 168 and they still would not up my scholarship.Dawg57 wrote:Yes, the UTK COL site was down earlier but is back up.

Wow, to retake and jump up and not get an increase seems like rough goings. I have seen such mixed reviews on the history of whether they negotiate or not. And I have had to dig quite deep for such anecdotal evidence. I certainly do not think the prospects of them upping it are great, I also am prepared to sacrifice months from now until deadlines waiting and building upon a chance to negotiate. So I am hoping withdrawals and money rolling back in will lead to increases that are menial in the grand scheme of things for the school but significant for me.
It is that, or take a better offer I have elsewhere. But i think I have made it clear where my preference lies

Good luck, and always continue to negotiate. If you haven't taken the LSAT three times, I would highly recommend retaking. That is what I did after putting down seat deposits to UTK. Knowing that I was going to a good law school really took the stress away. Now I am looking at $50,000/yr to WUSTL as opposed to the offer I had from UTK.Dawg57 wrote:Wow, to retake and jump up and not get an increase seems like rough goings. So they only send decisions through the mail?

Yes only decision through the mail. But the trend I have witnessed is that they call you to inform you when they have made a decision and give you the news, then mail you something as well. I have not heard of anything official being sent via email, just contact from current students, professors, alumni, etc.

Did the status checker reflect that a decision had been made, or did you just find out via letter or phone called?

Found out through phone call - then the checker was updated - then got mail... phone call should come first.HP15 wrote:Did the status checker reflect that a decision had been made, or did you just find out via letter or phone called?
