Why is lawschoolnumbers.com so outdated?
I referred a friend interested in the law school application process to http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com recently. Then I went to the website myself, and realized they haven't updated law school profiles or rankings in about 2 years! What's up with that? It looks like applicants are still using it to enter their own application lists and data about decisions and scholarships, but is that the only role it has now?

Honestly the value is mostly in the self-reported data it offers. There are so many other resources (abovethelaw, USNWR, etc...) with similar info that there's really not much need to update. Would it be wise to do so? Of course it would, you always want the most up-to-date information. But is it necessary? Not for LSN's niche role as an admissions data repository. Least that's my 2 cents.

No idea why the front page info hasn't been updated but they also have not fixed the default Applicant year setting from 2014-15. If you go and look at the 2014-15 cycle for any given school you'll see a ton of people who are unknowingly uploading and updating their current '15-'16 cycle information using last year's cycle tag, which is kind of annoying.

Yeah, that happened to me somehow, and I couldn't find any way to fix it either.EnderWiggin wrote:No idea why the front page info hasn't been updated but they also have not fixed the default Applicant year setting from 2014-15. I totally agree. But then they should just take down the school profiles. Make it just the applicants' data repository.MOKE4311 wrote:Honestly the value is mostly in the self-reported data it offers. Same thing happened to me. If you go to MyLSN-->Settings, there's an option to change the cycle.njkga wrote:Yeah, that happened to me somehow, and I couldn't find any way to fix it either.EnderWiggin wrote:No idea why the front page info hasn't been updated but they also have not fixed the default Applicant year setting from 2014-15.
