Interesting. I wish there was some way to know if that impacted his scholarship offer at all. Not that I would be brave enough to risk it; I'll do pretty much anything the adcomms ask me to do.capricasixx wrote:Oh yeah, it was the same day actually. Like 5 minutes later. I assume it was automated.SlithyTove wrote:Looks like you got your interview request fairly quickly so hopefully I'll know soon if that'll be a part of my process. Thanks for the info.capricasixx wrote:I had my interview on Friday and she said I should hear a decision within a few weeks. FWIW though timeline is probably very different if you don't elect to interview since they don't even open your app until afterward.SlithyTove wrote:I just finally got my app in today so I'm excited to see what your timeline is like/what sort of scholly $$$ they have left. Keep me posted please!capricasixx wrote:Hey guys, new here - just applied on Monday and got my interview invite same day. Those of you who interviewed- how long did it take for them to confirm your requested date/time?
Also curious if anyone knows with any degree of certainty whether everyone gets an interview or if it's meaningful, and how much the interview can hurt/help. Friend is a 1L with GPA < 25%/LSAT around the median, and he skipped the interview and still got in with a good scholly, but had a few years of paralegal experience.
For the record though a friend of mine is a current 1L and he was offered and interview but did not take them up on the offer and (obviously) still got in.

In today via email!
Submitted 2/1
Complete 2/8
Interviewed 3/4
FWIW I never saw "Under Review" or anything of that sort on the status checker, it just remained at "Complete" and the date changed a couple times.

Re: Lewis & Clark - c/o 2019
Two weeks ago I interviewed with L&C, and I got the feeling that they were going to throw me a bone.
I got my large envelope today.
Accepted, with $22k/yr "Dean's Scholarship", which renews as long as I'm in "Good Standing".
I'm waitlisted at Iowa & UNC and hope is quite alive for those two. Several other T1s are still pending.
I may try to negotiate as we near crunch time.
My stats -
160 / 2.94
Nontraditional (U Phoenix grad, several starts & stops across 4 colleges)
Navy vet w/ 5 years active duty
12.5 months of Post-9/11 GI Bill remaining

Anyone else going to Law School Preview on the 9th? I figure with a $500 stipend, why not?

I'm a PNW native, so I figure I'll stop by, but I'm not sure L&C will up up my offer high enough for me to matriculate.capricasixx wrote:Just got my fat envelope today and the scholarship info was included.SlithyTove wrote:Congratulations! We should have a TLS codeword... "Croissants," maybe? As in, "Why is the quality of croissants served at a law school continental breakfast always so patently poor?"CJRpnw wrote:I'm a PNW native, so I figure I'll stop by, but I'm not sure L&C will up up my offer high enough for me to matriculate.capricasixx wrote:Just got my fat envelope today and the scholarship info was included.SlithyTove wrote:Congratulations! It was in one of the flyers that came in my fat envelope, which took its sweet time getting to me after the email came through... It seems to be standard for out-of-state students though (well, probably not like, Washington state students, but I think you'll get the same flyer).SlithyTove wrote:Where did you find the reimbursement info for campus preview?capricasixx wrote:YusssssssssSlithyTove wrote:In today via email! Blerg, that's what I was afraid of. Reached out to admissions to confirm the amount; if they get back to me today I should be able to make it work! Code clothing colors instead of code word for covert friending? Are you going to the mixer on Friday night, or just the Saturday stuff?capricasixx wrote:It was in one of the flyers that came in my fat envelope, which took its sweet time getting to me after the email came through... I can't take any time off work, so I'm not flying up there until late Friday night. So sadly I will miss the mixer.SlithyTove wrote: Blerg, that's what I was afraid of. I only have one outfit - dark jeans, white v-neck, black flats and black blazer. Seems to be a good one size fits all for these things, and I won't have the money to go clothes shopping until, oh, let's see - 2019? LOL

I'd totally recommend sticking around for an extra day if you can to get a sense of Portland. It should be pretty nice out, and while Lewis & Clark is gorgeous, it's a bit isolated from the city at large. If you only have a few hours, check out NW 23rd or the Pearl, or hop to the east side of the river and wander N Mississippi Ave or SE Division.
